Most fans seem to only want success, and thus they decide to hate any player that supposedly plays badly. The crap said about Mortimer and Robson is particularly ridiculous, saying that they are the reason we didn't make the finals, yet last year's finals run was all on the back of Hayne, Mortimer and Robson did nothing. And if we had untested rookies like Humble and Mitchell in there all year, we would have made the top four...

Players like Burt, Reddy, Mortimer, Grothe, Keating ARE Parramatta, and if you don't support the players, then you support nothing.
Saying that though, Tahu turned his back on the Eels to piss off to a rival code, then badmouthed our game while he was over there, then turned himself into a complete hypocrite by coming back to our game and criticising then, and then in the space of a month saying that the Blues jersey is the pinnacle then walking away from that as well. Then of course, whinged about his former coach after the shameful sacking incident, all while playing poorly throughout the year, including a ridiculous brain explosion which ended in a sin-binning and suspension, letting down his teammates just because he was a little angry.
On those terms, Tahu deserves what criticism comes his way. If he wants to show that he is a true Eel, he should shut his mouth, knuckle down and start playing for his teammates again.

I agree with a lot of your post.

He's not a true eel anymore, not to me at least.

Totally agree with your sentiments.
Mate v Mate....Your Club needs to get its act together otherwise it is on the road to implosion.
No love for Burt, Reddy, Tahu, Mortimer, Robson, EGJ, Matt Keating......
It is not the old Parramatta Club that I spent 50 years following....

As not only a supporter but a stakeholder and investor in this club, I love and support every one of our players no matter their ability. I want every single one of them to do well and cheer every single one of them on.

That's the way it should be too...Now if you can just get the rest of the mob on the forum to 'show the love' instead of bagging the crap out of them (the players) the Club will be better off.

Well said on both your points. Can't really disagree.

...

Can hardly wait for the season to start to watch those Raiders go, go go...It'll be tough without Campo..but the addition of Blake, Brett and the return of Joel.....plus a fit Tonguey and NO infighting..all looks promising. We've got some good kids on the way up too. Drury Low, Sam Williams, Micky Picker, Sam Matora.....Things are falling into place...
Hope all the pundits nominate us to run LAST again......A new era is on the way..
BTW....We haven't given up on signing Matt Orford just yet...still in the mix...
If he comes, Josh McCrone might have to switch to pivot..but he can handle it, was probably the most improved player in the competition towards the end of last season....R P.

Can't believe Solomona and Lauittiti are still going around... they must be close to hanging up the boots?

Me either. That's the problem with being a traditionalist...and being a Rugby League lover.
I am me, you are you, they are they....I can think for myself, fortunately...:sarcasm:

whilst most old men watch porn for kicks, Pete sticks an old Canberra gane in his new VHS (technology is becoming so advanced)

Porn..haven't got time for that. I'm a grandpa...
I used to stick video of Malcolm Fraser bawling his eyes out when he conceded to Bob Hawke after losing the election. That used to cheer me up..Now Malcolm has become one of the 'good guys' I cant use it any more. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVd_I_lhxeQ

Yep, but I do love the 1989 Grand Final with late tries to Chicka and Jacko to beat the Tigers..that's a good 'un. Rated the greatest Grand Final of the Modern Era.
BTW..We have seven of the Raiders "Best Ever" team playing in the Pie in the Sky on March 5

...Come on down PG..If you love football...you'll love this Festival of Football..Starting on Thursday and finishing on Sunday night. So good, Macquarie Sports will (hopefully) be sending Hindy along for ARL Superclinic Day on the Friday....
