how did dreamcatcher, tommyknockers, runniing man, children of the corn and Maxium overdrive make your list

They either totally screwed a great story (like running man, dreamcatcher and tommyknockers) or were just stupid like any of the Children of the Corn sequels and Maximum Overdrive

Yes, it was good. Carried the mood of the book (well, short story) across pretty well and I thought John Cusack was excellent. I wonder why King's short stories seem to always translate into better movies than his novels? The Shining and Misery are probably the only exceptions.

I've heard that JJ Abrams is looking to put The Dark Tower on the big screen. Would be an interesting exercise.

"The Video Dead" is great cult classic 80's zombie movie I loved watching with mates on Friday the 13th.

I think I made an error with that www.fleshwoundvideo.com e-mailing address.

I think this one worked though.

pimpone@fleshwoundvideo.com

I watched Maniac Cop the other night and the DVD quality was rather poor.
Seemed smugdy with the night time sceens.
Sort of like it was transferred straight off video quality.

I think my old missing video copy of Maniac Cop was clearer.
Someone borrowed it off me and failed to return it.

I like part 2 of this movie how he swirls the batton.

I'm a fan of Tom Atkins, part one was ok I guess, but Bruce Campbell's acting seemed a bit stale in this.

P.S. Speaking of VHS.......about a month ago I put three-quarters of my old videos in a shopping trolley and left ém all under the bridge and they were gone the next morning.
10 to 15 years of work, buying VHS, stealing VHS in school like Spiderman up the libray wall, stealing them from Grace Brothers, hiring the movies, now they're history.
Friggin' there had to have been over 2000 of them all up.

have you seen REC? quarantine is the yank version of it. (not a remake because the us version filmed around the same time) REC is much much more scarier.

lately the best horror ive seen is Martyrs, its a french horror and its f'ing outstanding.

horror films i love:

house of 1000 corpses/devils rejects
martyrs
inside
high tension
brain dead
2001 maniacs
the hills have eyes (remake)
aftermath
let the right one in
28 weeks later
the orphanage
suspiria
mother of tears
SAW
friday the 13th (old ones)

We already did a classic horror thread which I thoroughly enjoyed.
I'm not going through it all again.

LOL

House of 1000 corpses? That's horror? That is no more a horror film than Home Alone.

A tale of two sisters
Ju-On: The Grudge
Audition
Ringu
Art of the Devil

Asians have the horror genre to themselves. If it's not Asian it's not worth watching, no sh*t.

you might not like it...its still horror.

and the asians suck ass.

audition is great tho. but most of their stuff is all the same. the guinea pig series are good too...altho more gore flick than "horror".

ringu and grudge are turds.

You just named Friday the 13th, House of 1000 corpses, Saw and 28 days later as your favourite horror films. You really have no right to comment on what sucks arse.
