If anyone has been listening to the top 2000 countdown in Sydney than you know why

The presenters come across as incredibly fake, the order of the music is ridiculous, how dare they put some of that shit anywhere near the top 500 and the channel is ridiculousb

Meh.... each to their own. I've been quite enjoying it myself. It was apparently voted on by the listeners so some out there obviously have lame taste or maybe not as good as yours Moffo. Its not the top 2005 songs of all time so why the problem?

the problem i have with it is songs like paranoid(in the 500's) wish you were here(106) and hotel california(95) are going to be beaten by the shit jet put out and some B52 shit. apart from that its been quite interesting to hear some stuff i havent heard for years.

Like anything not everyone will like where things end up but I do agree with Mike about classics like Hotel Caliafornia being done by a crappy "at the time" song.

Moffo you contribute/start a thread about MMM every couple of months to say how much you dont like them, you sure theres no repressed feelings here? Or have you finished Uni & had to hand in your JJJ membership? :D

I stopped listening to them when they put Eminem at number 2 on their top rock songs of all time list a couple of years ago.

And I haven't listened to them since.

 still got it

The presenters come across as so fake, it sounds like all of their callers are put up to it.

Fair points guys, to each their own. If they put a nickelback or good charlotte song in the top 100 then its goodnight to MMM

I think I'll dstick to my normal radio diet of JJJ and the occasional bit of FBI for variety, but each to their own I 'spose.

I have a Triple M T shirt
I won it, my daughter was listening to it, when a quiz came on.
After about ten wrong answers, I told her to ring and I would give the answer.
So she did.
Walter Lindrum scored me a triple M shirt.
She listens to Nova now.

Give me NPR anyday.

I remember when MMM had a competition a few years back where they would give $10,000 (??) to the first listener who rung in when they didn't play a "rock" song.

The station played a Bob marley tune & when they guy rang in to collect, they brushed him off so he took them to court.

Shite station, I listen to JJJ - but then, I'm a Lefty, Pinko, Michael Moore-disciple

Triple M sh*ts me to no end.

To win stuff these days, you have to be a "Freq" club member, which means that you have to listen to them enough to get the code words - which I can't do. I suppose it's a good way to ensure loyalty, but their style is so bland - architypical of commercial FM stations (Nova is an exception).

Their latest catch phrase is "music that the other FM's won't play". Then they invariably play something that you will hear all the time on WSFM, or they will play Killing Heidi - like their stuff is not heard on other stations.

thats wrong

Number 1 will either be "Stairway to Heaven" or a Nickelback song.

I seriously fear it'll be the latter.

I reckon it'll be a U2 song...

I listen to MMM on the train to and from work. The Cage and Shebang crack me up.

They have thankfully improved and haven't played rap crap for a while now.
