  @ Locky_Jr.... PJ and Twizz enjoy picking on each other   it comes part and parcel with the 2 of them.

Can I ask you why your screen name is Locky_Jr and you support parra?

For me, Nana, Dad and Mum have always supported Parra.
My first memories of Parra are watching Eric Snr run down the sidelines at games Dad would take me to or that we would watch on TV. Since then the fanatiscism has just increased especially now I call the man I once idolised as a child, a friend.
The game itself is just wonderful to watch and the people and players that I have met along the way just seal the deal for why I support the Eels

Parra have always been my team but Lockyer is my favourite player and Locky Jr was this nickname I got, (I was the only girl who the guys would play footy with) I would try to emulate the way he played, I even became a left footer (not that I could not kick with left already), it came from playing but after a while I kind of stuck

I am born and bred in the NT but both my parents come from Sydney area, my dads side is from Liverpool and the whole side of my family follows the Eels. My Uncle even knows Eric Grothe Snr. My dad and my grandad went to Eels games when he was younger and he sorta supports them.

I stumbled upon the Eels in the 2001 season but didnt really understand rules etc. I properly started going for the Eels in 2003 when i became a member thingy :D And only in the last two years I have really taken the Eels and Rugby League properly and understand most things about the game.

PS Its strange to notice the difference between the games of 1977 and 2006, i watched the 77 GF today on Fox Sports and league back then reminded me sooo much of Union. Bring back the scrummage

1973 - my uncle used to listen to the games on the radio and sit me on his knee. Haven't known life without the mighty blue and golds.....

I am the Son of a Souths Man and My Mother follows Collingwood. As most of my family (my mothers side) was Victorian, my Nana (on my mothers side) insisted we all had VFL teams. Since my Uncle Mick and My Cousin Robert (was was 12 days older then me) went for Hawthorn, So did I.

It was when my Uncle Visited us in 1980 that my Uncle and Dad took me to a Sports store in Main Street Blacktown. My Uncle had promised me a Hawthorn sticker so in to the sports shop to pick one up.

If any of you don't know the Sport Shop that was next door to the Old Pub in Main Street Blacktown was run by Tommy Radonokis. So No VFL "Crap" in store.

So I was getting a sticker no matter, My Dad pushed me towards Souths, Tommy towards Newtown and Wests, but Parramatta were doing well and shared a colour with my Hawks. Gold. So I got my first eels sticker and I was on my way.

I also have the privilege of Meeting Artie Beatson while wearing a Hawks Jumper.

that is cool, there are 12 people living in my house and I refuse to let anyone follow the same team as anyone else

My father was a Roosters supporter but my Godfather was an eels fan and although we moved from Syd to Melbourne when I was about 5 had started to like the eels by then. Returned to Sydney in 1979 and took up residence in Northmead. Westfield Pmtta was the local shopping centre and The Bomber had his sports store there. Peardy was such a nice guy decided to seriously follow the local team against my dads best wishes.

I remember being allowed to go on my own to Cumberland in 1980 (at 12 yrs of age) and sitting on the wooden seats at one end of the field, rain hail or shine. Camped outside Grace Bros Parramatta for 3 days waiting for Ticketek to open to get GF tickets and then for 2 days outside the Moore Park rd entrance to the SCG for the "bolt" to get front row seats in '81. Did this with a broken arm and did it again for the next 2 years.

Have converted my Nthn Beaches wife to the Eels, though she claims she always had a soft spot for them and my little girl, due in 8 weeks, will be in her season ticket seat for 2008 (her mum doesnt want her going out at night in her first year so she will be watching fox replays only)
