How do you stay sane following the eels?

I think the best thing you can say is that they're definitely improving.

Forget this season anyway - they're going to be up and down - but at least they're starting to play some decent footy again for the first time since 2007.

Add in some new players and some experience with the likes of Mortimer etc and the future looks promising.

It was dissapointing today but there was alot of promising signs especially from Dan Mortimer, he is truely looking the goods imo.
Today we really had to win if we wonted a finals birth of any chance. DA imo has done a good job this year in keeping our boys together through injury and departures, he truely has done good things with helping blokes like Grothe, Robson, Mannah and Reddy as well as help Hayne, and FFMM get to that next level.

Who said we are still sane. The funny thing is, i just knew, even when we scored to make it 34-32, i just knew they would score. It was so inevitable, that it didnt really worry me.

It has been a very frustrating season, today being an example. Put us out of our misery.

The ONE thing keeping me going is that some of them are putting in 200% effort, and there is SOME hope for next season.

Two words saved Penrith today- MICHAEL JENNINGS.
Really cranky we lost , but happy to see some good tries , offloads , support play.

well 09 is over for the eels....i think 8 wins from 9 games is needed. Eels dont have that much consistancy. FFS when moi moi chucked the ball away in the 78th minute. my god. weve had two very poor seasons (08,09), 2010 BETTER BE F**KIN GOOD!

We are truly the worst defensive team in the whole NRL. Get anywhere near our tryline and its curtains.

i can you score 32 points and still loose? what a joke. Good game though.
If anyone doubts the Super League influence of fast play the balls , touch football defence and distance between the attack and defence lines , then surely today's game illustrates this.
Highest losing score? Hunter Mariners 36 , Bulldogs 48 , 1997 S: comp

But we had so very much to play for !!! All we had to do was basically keep them out for a set. Every time we scored (and we scored some classics) we were just so pathetically inept and unable to keep them out for the next 5 mins !!!

Highly entertaining game, but very poor defensive match. Some tries from both teams were very soft. I thought we may have kicked on after Mortimer scored his first try, we were starting to look the goods there, but then Jennings got his first after the Walsh break (which I thought the pass was forward leading into it, but in saying that the Reddy try was line ball).

Was very frustrated by Moi Moi's attempted offload in the 78th minute, but it should never have come down to that, we should have been a lot better defensively.

I can't believe Lowrie threw an offload, let alone one that resulted in a try. Kudos Todd.
