You obviously missed the part where they won all those big games when there was actually a title on the line, rather than some weird pre-Origin test with no meaning.

I'm not saying they're the "best ever" - just pointing out that like it or not the Kiwis have actually been more successful than the mighty Kangaroos over the past 10 years. The Kangaroos have beaten NZ more often, sure, but the Kiwis have more games between the two when an actual CHAMPION was being decided.

2005 - 2015
New Zealand
World cups- wins 1(08) runners up 1 (13)
3/4 nations record- wins 3 (05, 10 13) runners up 1 (06)
ANZAC tests- wins 1 ( 2014)

Australia
World cups- wins 1 (13) runners up 1 (08)
3/4 nations- wins 3 ( 06, 09, 11) runners up 3 (05, 10, 14)
ANZAC tests wins 10- 2005-2014

Tournament results in last 10 years

2006 - AUSTRALIA won Tri Nations
2008 - NEW ZEALAND won World Cup
2009 - AUSTRALIA won Tri Nations - NZ didn't make final
2010 - NEW ZEALAND won Tri Nations
2011 - AUSTRALIA won Tri Nations - NZ didn't make final
2013 - AUSTRALIA won World Cup (34-2)
2014 - NEW ZEALAND won Four Nations

Pretty close, wouldn't say more successful

You've missed 2005 - Kiwis thumped us 24-0 in that year's Tri Nations.

Either way, that's a massive acheivement for the kiwis given they have one pro team in the NRL. In a lot of ways it's like Queensland dominating Origin in the 80s despite the Broncos not even existing.

Yeah well I certainly would have liked to have played Australia again at the end of the year. I just hope that none of our players are pulled out of the tour by aussie clubs.

England have a decent side and it will be a challenge to beat them at home. Their pack is arguably better than Australia's IMHO.

Name a better centre than Whare. GI doesn't count.
Hodges?
Chambers?
Morris?
Jennings?
Don't make me laugh.

Whare is the best all-round centre in the game. Great in defense, great in attack. He even makes David Simmons look good. All of a sudden he's scored 100 tries. Who ever expected that to happen? Whare accelerated that achievement for him.

How come you cant' quote for shit??

Dean Whare is not only the best centre in the world right now, but the best player also.

Les Boyd? Mark Geyer?

What glorious Kangaroo careers they had. Held up as some all-time great Roos

The hyperbole of how bad Australian League is reaching ridiculous levels.

When the Roos win the ANZAC test in 2016 by 30, will that still be the case I wonder?

I think the days of common Kangaroos thrashings of NZ are over to be honest. The Kiwis halves are just as good as Australia's now, and their forwards are clearly now superior. Also, some guys like Inglis etc seem only capable of performing on the big stage when it's against a side who they have a chip on their shoulder with, which they can't reproduce against a little brother like NZ

That's not my point, I like NZ doing well and love Trans Tasman tests.

The chatter about how great they are is starting to border on sycophantic and arrogance

Don't think arrogance is the right word, perhaps wishful thinking.

I suppose next year will tell us more, but it's pretty clear that the Kiwis and Kangaroos are certainly more EVEN in terms of competitiveness these days than NSW and Qld are.

At first I think people just thought the Kiwis were flunking it, but they've been increasingly consistent every year and apart from the last RLWC - which was a beautiful and almost perfect performance by the Kangaroos - they've looked to have the goods on us.

Some people are probably overstating it a bit here, but those who argue that psychologically it's harder for the Qld legends to summon their Origin passion against NZ are right in my view. The Kiwis clearly hate our guts, but it's hard to hate them like we hate our intestate rivals and that actually makes it harder for us.

I'll take twenty points.
