How dumb are Parra

Nothing is going to change for parra until they can get a front row that can bend the line back. Cayless is pathetic and @ 450k a year, I would have asked him to go to england rather than Finch. At least Finch playing behind a decent pack is going to have a go.

I feel for Parra - they actually have good players, but probably need to go back to basics IMO. Here are my suggestions:-

1. Krisnan Inu - back to fullback
2. Jarred Hayne - back to wing. The position that made him the powerhouse
3. Ben Smith - back to Centre
4. Timana Tahu wants to come back - and why not the The Eels
5. Eric Grothe is really putting in this year, and should be rewarded
6. Kris Keating looks very, VERY promising
7. Michael Monaghan - wants out of the UK - get him
8. Fui Fui Moi Moi is a great prop. Others could learn from this bloke
9. Le'Strange - I would be GUTTED to see him leave us, but $$$ talks I guess
10. Justin Poore - offer the man ANYTHING !
11. Nathan Hindmarsh - as a Manly fan it kills me to say this - love the man !
12. Weller Hauraki - needs to be more aggressive ALA Moi Moi
13. Feleti Mateo - needs to be able to play both sides of the ruck

14. Kevin Kingston is a great Hooker - deserves a good shot at it
15. Tim Mannah looks great, and will only improve
16. Junior Paulo - Needs to shed kilo's, and play with more speed and diversity
17. Taulima Tautai - turn the bloke into a mobile, energy type backrower utility

What I see in this team:

1. It's a lot younger
2. It's a lot more mobile
3. It seems more balanced
4. I BELIEVE it may be affordable
5. It would be very energy filled and speedy

Anyways - I'm just an Eagles supporter suggesting ideas. Won't happen, but also shows not much NEEDS to happen in order to be a force again IMO.

yeah i dont see how letting finch go is crap
he was told shape up or ship out
and he decided to run like a gutless wonder
having his hissy fit all the way to the media
pathetic
self-serving players who think they should be an automatic selection into first grade regardless of form
no wonder he's friends with the dog clint newton
loser

short term pain, for long term gain, to be finally proud of your team again
loving it over here in newcastle!

Agree...if in doubt blame your halves.

Storm now have Finch and will be better for it...Parra now have no halves.

You Finch lovers must be blind....wait until you see his last tackle options and crap kicking game...The rooters and eels supporters know this well...it is your turn now...

I actually don't recall many Eels fans bagging Tim Smith's on field work. Most of the criticism came from other camps - mainly Bozo and sadly Brett Kenny. Smith had an awesome kicking game and a very good passing game.

There is trouble at the club - and like the old Jack Gibson rule - it all starts at the front office. Which is at war atm, and Fitzy acting like Hitler when the Ruskies entered Berlin. It's like the Dogs in past years.

Sadly, it looks like spoonsville for us this season. Having said that, it looks like the end of the dismal underachieving Fitzgerald era, rendered impotent after Price and Cronin retired in 1986 - when Matt Keating was only 2!

Better days lie ahead when the civil war at the front office is over.

We wont have to, unlike your mob we'll have Cooper Cronk and Cam Smith to take care of that.

Parra struggle because they have the biggest powderpuff pack in the NRL, and I'm not saying that just to incite eels fans.

Fui x 2 and Hindmarsh are the only two really putting in, but Hindmarsh is past his peak no matter how good he still might be playing. Still offers more than the others.

If the Eels don't sign at least one decent prop then 2010 is over before it's begun. A second rower wouldn't hurt either.

I can't believe the Eels are travelling so poorly considering their talent.

I believe Peter Sterling hit the nail on the head today on ABC Radio. Instead of punting Finch they should've focussed on the forward pack who have been diabolical over the first five rounds.

Sadly I get the feeling it's going to be a long season for the Eels.

Agree with that to but the apointment of Chris ANDERSON has not been pretty and it has lead to a few dissapointing reults. I guess its just going to be one of those seasons.

Inu should of just went on his Mormon mission at the end of 07.

He sucked in 08 and is even worse this year.

Those 2 years would of been better served if he was out knockin on doors, spreading the gospel of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints.

Inu is actually quite good compared to the rest of the team. We just have no creativity in the Halves. That would explain why we stutter and freeze every time we enter the opposition's 20.

- Hayne to 5/8. Stupidest decision ever, cant tackle or pass
- Punting finch - despite the fact he had no room infront of him due to a sh*t pack, and no ability outside him because he had Hayne outside of him
- Continually picking hacks

They were being given a bath by the radio commentators, particularly Hayne and Inu and in general, sounded like very lacklustre performance. They need a massive cleanout of their club because they currently have a sh*t forward pack and a disinterested, mediocre backline.

Lift your game!

Finch could play behind a pack with Clyde, Beetson, BK...Whatever. He isn't a halfback, so punting him is irrelevant. We still would have gotten dusted last night with Finch. Except it would have been by more because he wouldn't have set up any plays. He's a hack, at halfback.

The eels should of took note what other clubs done and not sign anderson straight from the superleague , they were better off finding an ex nrl coach

I honestly believe Anderson will turn the club around. Won't happen this year, because obviously rebuilding a club takes time. But he's already stamped his authority on the club and, given time, will push out our enormous amount of dead wood and instill some pride back into the jersey.

Just thinking abck t he past decade for Parra, they've always had a lot of talented juniors come through who shwoed promise but never got anywhere near what they could achieve (exceptions would be hindmarsh and Lyon, and maybe a few others), but when you think of players as far back as cayless, vella, grothe, tim smith, ben smith, inu, hayne and i'm sure countless others i wonder what it is whereby players with so much potential just dont develop at parra.

phil gould has been critical of parra for ages and i remember he used to refer to them as releasing players to other clubs so they could learn how to play and then buying them back at inflated rates. the more i think about it, it just seems the culture at the eels isnt/hasnt been conducive to a lot of players getting anywhere near their potential

So what your saying is we have depth in Junior Quantity and Talent, we just don't know how to de3velopment into start-studded Players. Inu making the Kiwis Side and Hayne making an appearance in Origin in 2007 would knock-back that statement.
