I don't think he'll be out of the Aussie test side for too long. If he keeps scoring runs, then the selectors have no choice but to pick him again. Don't forget that the selectors see him as the future of the Aussie team. That should never be discounted. All it would take is for Hussey or Hodge to have a few failures in a row and Pup will be back in the side. He's just going through a bit of a form slump. Form is temporary, Class is permanent
yeah - all class
Since his century against NZ in Brisbane, Clarke has had 15 tests, scored 531 runs at an average of 25.28.
A stellar 4 tests against the mighty Black Caps in which he averaged 11.25 with a top score of 22,
5 tests against England with a top of 91 and an average of 37.22 (better than his career average)
an average of 22 against the World XI (1 test), 20.75 against Pakistan (3 tests) and 12 against the Windies (2 tests)..
Recall him quick... I mean, he's played 72 first class matches and has an average of 38.53, how can you afford to omit such class from your test team???
