lol doesn't really mateer but I thought I saw there was no discount available for the early plea?

25% discount if you take the early plea. You can also plead guilty but challenge the grading, if you win you get the discount, if you lose no discount. So 5 possible scenarios:
- early plea - 25% discount so 2 weeks
- early guilty plea but challenge grading and successful - 25% discount and grade 1 early guilty plea penalty which would be 0 weeks
- early plea but challenge grading and not successful - no discount so 3 weeks
- not guilty plea and lose - no discount so 3 weeks
- not guilty plea and win - 0 weeks (obviously)

In Peachey's case, last 2 options aren't really available because every man and his dog knows it was a dangerous throw

2 weeks is a bit light. Should be twice that. Don't think he knew the whistle had been blown, but he did get him into an extremely dangerous position.

Riiight, he knocks on, relinquishes the ball to another player, sees that player standing around doing nothing and thinks "OH f**k! PLAY ON!"?

Good explanation, thanks.

And he doesn't play for the Bulldogs.

He was entitled to make the tackle I think, but the tackle went wrong. I'm sure he didn't mean to fling the bloke to ground head first. I thought it remarkable how strong he is for a smallish bloke.

Good to see they are taking these tackles seriously, learnt nothing from Alex it would seem.

Beat me to it. The problem is from the top down these people have no idea about the game. How can you appoint people to run the referees, the MRC for example when you haven't got any understanding of the game. David Smith may have been a good banker, but has no grasp of the game or the way it should be governed.

All he cares about is what can bring in more $'s which like the banking industry is driven by short term goals. It is all about how can I maximise this years earnings with no regard for 10-20 years down the track. He then brings in jokers like Greenberg, a lawyer and Richardson. We end up with muppets like Tony Archer and Michael Buettner in charge as a result and the whole thing is a mess. All this seriousness about dangerous throws and potential neck injuries and then joke suspensions like this. However similar incidents in the lower grades have seen some very long suspensions. These guys are easy to punish but they will always go soft on NRL players.

He was entitled to make the tackle on an unsuspecting player after the whistle had blown?

He had hold of that player preventing him from moving on from that spot. A knock on where the other team gets the ball is play on. So if he didn't hear the whistle, he thinks the tackle needs to be made.

It's a dangerous tackle for sure. But it only deserves punishment on the dangerousness of the tackle. 4 weeks for mine. I don't think it was intentional, just extremely stupid. He claims not to have heard the whistle. Which is certainly possible.

Has anyone considered Peacheys feelings through all of this? Poor guy just wants to drop merkins on their heads and you sooks are trying to rub him out of the game! Its disgraceful.

He knocked it on, then picked it back up, had Blair picked it up off the ground rather than take it from his hands, sure, he'd be entitled to make the tackle. Play ends there.
