Or how essential it is too the fragile ecosystem in general?

we ain't going anywhere

In ten years our setup will be the model all clubs wished they had.

Even if they did make us play out of some shit stadium with no soul or audience we'd still be better off than many other clubs.

what a thing of glorious beauty.

Wow sharks have relocated and they've turned the pitch into a growers market according to that picture! That's some long term planning for you lol.

In seriousness though the fact the stadium (cough) is showing nothing improved would have to be a worry. You would at least have hoped they would have shown some ambition and built one new stand within the next decade, given your new found wealth and the masses of people that will want to attend Sharks games and all.

The raiders are rich as hell and we have been failing for years. All being rich as a club means is that the nrl is happy to let you plod along for eternity.

Are you about 17?

That would explain the shortness of your memory.

Bunnies were shit for years.
Their game attendance figures are nothing to be excited about either if you consider the
membership numbers they claim to have.

A few lean years on the field and they will be back where there were .

Next to mangroves?

What's wrong with mangroves, one of if not the most productive plants on the planet, highly illegal to destroy and without which much life would not exist. Maloney is about to finish his career with a bang

I think there are a few Souths folk wandering around with very, very short memories.

On another note - with this development - do you ever see and/or consider the Sharks should rebrand as the Sydney Sharks?

I wouldn't want it.
But I'd begrudgingly cop it if I had to.

Broadens the Sharks appeal IMHO, but I'm not often right either.

I also think since they own their own ground, are building all this rad development and the NRL will look to target 2-3 Sydney teams to 'move' or 'kill', I reckon the Sharks are now in an enviable position whereby they have bottomed out, are moving out of that 'down' cycle, are on the improve and should be cashed up and will be moving up the curve, they may as well broaden their base by being called the Sydney Sharks (more of a psychological thing).

But as I said, wtf do I know.

So the club is going to earn money from the stadium by holding events there when there are no games. Yeah, that's a stupid idea. Gormans already had Jnr World Cup friendlies there on the quiet to test it out and it was a success.

The ground not being updated is only a worry to you. Have you been to Shark Park lately? Under Lyall Gorman, Step by step, week by week it is becoming one of the best boutique sporting experiences in the country. The fact that it is not like every other stadium in the world is a strength Gorman and co want to exploit not dilute, and it is working. You see those families up the back of the hill with the prams? They LIKE that there is a bit of grass to stretch out on. The LIKE that there are jumping castles and all that gimmicky shit for the kids. Take that away and they don't come to the game.

And for those who are sceptical about the development being a success all released units have been sold and the crane went up a couple of weeks ago. It's popping up out of the ground in front of our eyes.

They tried it once before
Sharks international
Then went back on account of oldies wanting the connection to Cronulla .

I'd be fine with just The Sharks.

They should think about making the new stadium able to be reconfigured in summers so they can get a Southern Sydney Sharks BBL team playing there in summer and make even more money from lazy summer night cricket events and people piling in to the LC afterwards. Probably unfeasible but...

There isn't going to be a new stadium.
