Jamie Lyon has to be one of the most underrated and undervalued centres in recent times, he should be comfortably considered the second best centre in the game only after Inglis. He's the best ball playing centre I've ever seen, an interesting stat to consider when judging his performances this year

Try Assists

DCE - 19
Foran - 16
Lyon - 15

Linebreak Assists

DCE - 7
Foran - 13
Lyon - 11

The ability of a centre to create tries and opportunities for his winger is far too undervalued in the modern day game, there's way too much emphasis put on tries scored. For me he was Manly's player of the year.

Without looking at stats I am guessing a good majority of Bulldogs Try Scoring came from outside 40-50m. With that a lot came from offloads and broken play.

When ever the Bulldogs get into the opposition halves they have mostly had NFI.

We have had terrible structure in both attack and defence. Have lost the wrestle on the ground as long as I can remember and our line speed is atrocious.

Can Hasler turn this around in 1 season? Probably not. Hasler is going to have to try to build new habits for the club, and this does not come easy.

Barba was terrible under the high ball for most of the years but seemed to come good last 6-8 weeks where he improved out of sight. He is probably the best attacking weapon in the league but has a long way to go in defence.

Our wingers are way too slow and small. We will be vulnerable there in 2012 again.

Tim Lafai was awesome for the Dogs last year when he was at LEFT CENTRE. This is the same position that Josh Morris occupies. Tim struggled a bit on the right. I would like to see them swap Tim Left, Josh Right and see how that goes.

Trent Hodkinson is another he seemed to come good at the back end of the year. I am hoping this continues.

I am not sold on anyone at the Dogs playing five-eighth. Keating meh, Romelo meh Reynolds meh

I think we are going to have a sensational prop rotation in 2012 and the youngsters will only get better. Kasiano was a Rookie last year, as was Taupau. Both will do big things. I am sure of that. James Gravet was NSW Prop of the years and the Warriors rate him highly. I wont comment much on him as I didn't watch NSW cup much. I really think that we only need one of Graham and Tolman. You don't need 2 workhorse props playing 60-70 minutes. Neither provide great impact.

At 2nd Row we have Eastwood, Pritchard, Payne, Jackson, Finucane, Halatau & Stagg with the last 3 being able to play lock also. I am hoping to see a few youngsters get a run but I don't think they will get many games. Taupau may also feature in the back row.

At hooker we have Ennis. Maybe I am a little harsh on him but I don't think he is the player he was in 2009. I would like to see him start the games for the Dogs and then have Josh Reynolds come on later in the halves for impact. If anyone remembers Josh Reynolds played his best games and tore teams to pieces with his dummy half running when he came on as an interchange hooker. He really struggled at 5/8.

Tim Browne might be a surprise somewhere in the 2nd row/prop and I wouldn't be shocked to see Daniel Abou-Sleiman find himself in the team at fb or wing if need be.

It's not our fault your roster is NSW cup standard.

It is why your club fights for the spoon.

We lost by 4 points in that game at the end with as many injuries if not more then you. We also smashed you earlier in the year and finished well above you, and will again.:lol::lol:
you must sit down to piss? Dogs finished the same as all the teams outside the 8, the difference is we won our last 4 games in a row with a reserve grade line up. Any type of lose against a reserve grade squad is a flogging.... you are worse off in 2012 worse than 2011[no Ryan or Idris] 1 pommy who won't cut it in nrl! Roosters on the other hand are on track to another premiership in 2012!:D sweet dreams..

For people who don't know much about our young guns pushing for a spot (Finucane, Jackson and Lafai), all 3 are capable of playing first grade.

With Finucane, think of Shaun Fensom except with the ability to play front row and an added 50m a match. Same goes for Josh Jackson, except he's far more developed in attack. Lafai played a few matches in first grade in 2011 out of no where and claimed a couple of man of the match awards. He's all class and will turn out better than Idris IMO.

Des will get the best out of the halves, our back line is more than capable and we have a rep quality forward pack with the likes of Eastwood, Graham, Pritchard, Tolman and Ennis that only lacks consistency and that's something Des will hopefully fix.

Bench could be a bit of a worry, but we do have very capable players. I personally would play Eastwood off the bench for impact. He's having his first full pre-season in ages. Last year he had both wrists surgically repaired, his ankle also had surgery on it.

In conclusion, we have a team on paper capable of pushing for top 4. No idea how we will go on the field, though.

I've heard of overrating juniors but f**k me.

I read the entire post but the final sentence made me laugh. Top 4 based on the possible rise of 3 local juniors  Top 4 based on the "rep" forward pack of Eastwood (bench rep at best), Graham (fair enough), Pritchard (maybe 10th choice second rower for NZ), Tolman (lol since when?) and Ennis (QLD's best player).

You just shit from the mouth.

Dogs didnt finish the same as all other teams outside the 8. Although they had the same amount of wins as the team in 8th. The roosters didn.t

Your worse off in 2011, No myles your main forward, no ryles arguable one of your best forwards in 2011 and no carney the only player who looked dangerous at all in the past 2 years for the roosters. Spoon for sure.

The addition of Des alone should see us improve from 9th by for and against into the 8.

Enjoy the spoon.

You don't think Tolman will make origin in the next couple of seasons? Barely missed it this year. Ennis is the NSW hooker. Bag it all you want but its the truth, beats farah. Says hes good enough in people that know footballs eyes. Obviously your not one.

Eastwood before surgery killed it for the kiwis, hopefully fit and healthy will do it again. Pritchard could be the best forward or the player with all the ability and no interest. I think anyone again who know's football would say this much about Des. He gets the MOST out of his forwards. If you wish to argue look at manlys props all pretty crap really, yet they do the job for them to win the title.

just the way the game is played these days i don't think centres get the time and space they used to...the trend has been is that centres are finishers more than they are creators.

where'd you get these stats from?

Farah has been chosen for the Australian squad on more than one occasion. Ennis has never been under consideration. Ennis can't even get a start in the PMs XIII which Farah has played for 3 times. Again, your logic is flawed.

If making the NSW side makes you a better player I suppose that makes Jason King a far better player than Aiden Tolman.

Ennis may actually cut the niggle and selfish plays out of his game now he has the C next to his name. Either that or Des will kick his arse if he continues to do some of the stupid shit he is noted for.

I haven't read any post, but my inside info from one of the players, is that they are pumped for a huge season.

The players claim hasler is a nutter, and they haven't seen anything like him. He has left no stone unturned.

He has given Pritchard huge sprays, and is in shaped for his best season.

Finish anywhere in the top 6, with a top 4 a real chance. Will definitely give the contenders a scare.
