I’d like some of the let Hunt leave crew in the media to acknowledge that at least some of the reason we are so bad now is because we pandered to Ben Hunt. We employed his choice of coach, who then went out buying ‘friends of Hunt’. This was an unmitigated disaster and had a flow on affect of delaying the testing of our young up and comers, who are now at least 12 months less experienced than they should be. Yes we are finding some will not make the grade but we could have found that out a year ago. That’s on the board for pandering to him but it is now also a house built by Hook with Hunts assistance. He shares partial culpability.

But the thing that most annoys me is the lack of fortitude, the lack of resilience, in the squad. A couple of things go against them and they toss it in. This is unforgivable. This is the first thing Flanno needs to fix, it goes hand in hand with fixing our defence.

You've raised some very valid points.....another point is how unfit we are compered to most other clubs....now whether thats evident because its simply the fact we are just that physically unfit or whether it appears that way because as you say our lack of fortitude and resilience is showing or both

Yep spot on.....Hunt went into hiding on the field last night I think that stood out like a sore toe.....and what shit me off big time was his post match interview firstly when he started off by saying he was disappointed for his good mate Jack playing his 200th game and their performance for him....well Ben you did bugger all out there to improve the situation.....then we got the spin about he felt good before the game and how good it was to get back amongst the boys again...seriously Ben who are you kidding !!!!!!

100%....I said weeks ago the new coach needs to get stuck in now....not sure if its relevant and maybe wishful thinking but Flanagan maybe released from Manly particularly now Turbo has gone for the season and their premiership hopes took a big nose dive.....who knows ??

The reason we don't have Flanagan now- which we need- is because other clubs aren't as willing to roll over to do favours for others so easily. Manly have theirs eyes on the comp. Other, hungrier clubs understand the spirit of competition. We aren't in that league*.

We are supposed to be eternally grateful to our front office for landing Shane for 2024. Meanwhile, thanks to our astute management we are just ebbing and bobbing around in this comp being further disgraced when we should be rampantly ripping and clawing to get some talent to the club, yesterday.

One gets the feeling Flanagan will be up against it when he does eventually come. Battling the board. A sickness that pervades our club. Fresh faces, fresh ideas needed NOW.
