I liken this game to the life of an anaconda. We have slowly squeezed the energy and enthusiasm out of the poms over the last four days. Tomorrow, we feast, thought I'm not a fan of kippers and soggy chips.

So jonny bairstow has allegedly headbutted Cameron bancroft at a hotel in perth a couple weeks back.

England always crumble with off field issues after a heavy loss in brisbane happens every time they come out here.

Only time they didn't lose in brisbane recently was in 2010 and is the only series they won here in 30 odd years.

I reckon if we get through the pink ball in Adelaide with a win it will be 5-0.

Poms never win in perth and by Christmas they will be mentally cooked

Well not really. He's still got no future in the side at 34, which was my major issue with his selection.

You don't pick players for the Ashes for the purpose of future development though. That's what we've been (rightly I guess) doing in recent seasons. As I said in another post, I thought that Handscombe would struggle against Anderson (tick) and I could see the logic in picking a veteran to follow him. And it worked.

I hear that Handscombe is going to be dropped. Cricket Australia has signed up another recently off-contract middle order batsman who is just following his dreams

Well no but Marsh isn't better than the other options AND he has no future so its a dumb selection. And I don't even mind Marsh. He's always been solid but mentally fragile.

I back handscomb to come out on top too. You don't create a career on the back of that technique to consistently get out to Jimmy Anderson in Australia.
