Well no but Marsh isn't better than the other options AND he has no future so its a dumb selection. And I don't even mind Marsh. He's always been solid but mentally fragile.

I back handscomb to come out on top too. You don't create a career on the back of that technique to consistently get out to Jimmy Anderson in Australia.

I think people have made a lot of Marsh's spectacular failures against India in the Boxing Day / NY tests 5 years back. I don't see how he is any more mentally frail than any other batsman when he is out of form. I'll tell you one thing...I was a lot more confident with him coming in at 4/76 than any of the obvious alternatives. Coming in at 4/250....well that's another story. The biggest concern for me with Marsh is his habit of getting injured during a Test...particularly given that we can't use a runner anymore.

I'm certainly hoping that Hanscombe goes ok. I like him. But his technique is just asking for trouble against a bloke like Anderson. Hopefully he gets to start his innings in Adelaide in daylight.

I think Marsh has shown a few times that he's a downhill skier at best. He did well in this test just gone. But again, he was set and couldn't go on with it. He has a habit of getting out for 20-30 as well.

He has only got out between 20-40 3 times in 43 innings. He does have 8 test ducks though.

There is probabaly some hope for Handscomb. His stance is awkward but when the ball arrives everything is where it should be, head hands and feet.

He just needs to get forward a bit more like he was trying to do at the end of last season, he seems to have gone back to his old habits

If he fails and Oozie scores some runs watch them Parachute MMarsh into the squad for Perth. The selectors can't help themselves.

Which will be ridiculous because Handscomb is tailor made for bouncy wickets. He's awesome off the back foot and he plays the ball so late....

Anyway MDarsh isn't bowling yet is he? Might save us from his selection

He bowled last game, as I said they can’t wait to stick him back in the team.

How do you win the toss and bowl first at Adelaide, irrespective of the pink ball test. The poms get what they deserve.

I suspect the fact that the team bowling first has one the first two day-night tests might have influenced his decision. Always pretty random the day-night stuff. England really didn't bowl well though.

Sorry Baz but I’m not sure what you mean there. There have been three day night tests so far in Australia and we batted first in the most recent against Pakistan. We won that one too.

Sorry, referring to the day-nighters at Adelaide (i.e. v NZ and v S.A.). NZ batted first lost. SA batted first lost.
