WTF how did the wicket square get soaked ?

There is now serious doubt over whether day five of the third Test will go ahead today, writes Ben Horne in Perth, after England coach Trevor Bayliss described a wet WACA pitch as "dangerous".

Perth ground staff are working frantically to try and dry about half a dozen wet patches on a length which are so soft you can stick your thumb through them.

They had a months rain last night, hard to stop osmosis under the covers with that much water around.
It doesn't have to be some one's fault.

Lunch has been taken and play starts after lunch.

Mate, they had 25 mm's. Hardly a flood worthy of an arc. And apparently the covers leaked.
Plenty of blame to be laid here.

I've had the cricket on from the start and no one has said they leaked, not saying they didn't.

I've had this happen before but we get shit loads of rain up here. The water table rises on our home pitch as we are right next to a water source.
