Footy players need a proper offseason. Starting a comp (or even trial matches) in February just isn't a good idea from a player health perspective. You're still getting regular 30 degree days in Feb.

We don't need footy all bloody year long. It's good to miss it for a while. Makes it more exciting when it comes back.

I'm fine anyway. I watch the NFL and NBA during this period.

yeah, same but I watch a lot of Football and a bit of the Packers in the NFL

players are under enough physical stress over a footy season, they do need time off

Super bowl next Monday.

Trials start the weekend after this what bloody sport boredom is there.

The test match at the Gabba a week ago was one of the best we have seen in this country in a fair while.

A couple of tests in NZ at end of February will be a good watch.

The tennis just finished and was a great final.

There is no week off this year as the vegas games happen the weekend after the final trial games and world club challenge.

Once this weekend is over the footy will be on for 34 weekends straight.

I am pumped already just 32 sleeps to parra's first game and 26 to the official round 1 starts.

The SCG wicket has been average for a while.

But fmd if Cricket cave again to the Aussie Rules they are as gutless as anything.

Last time I checked its called the SCG the Sydney Cricket Ground not the Sydney Aussie Rules Stadium.

How are Cricket authorities not insulted by the fact the Aussie Rules basically own all there grounds now. They have got rid of the WACA in Perth for Optus an AFL ground.

Adelaide Oval is now a drop in because of the AFL. Same as the MCG.

The Gabba is an unknown atm with the stadium rebuild not likely to go ahead. But you can bet your bottom dollar the AFL are pushing for the pitch to be removed from there as well.

Tell the Swans to go and get f**ked.
Don't like it? Go play somewhere else then.

The SCG Trust would be full of AFL fans though, I'm assuming.

hey Swans, get f**ked

The MCG is also a cricket ground, but having f**kwits like Eddie McGuire on the board as well as runnung Collingwood they got their way.

If the Swans stack the SCG Trust a similar thing can happen becuase its a big money spinner for the SCG trust.

Scott Boland i think is done as a test cricketer.

He wont repeat what he did on debut and at 35 this year he will get found out against India next year if he plays.

Would prefer Neser ahead of him especially his batting ability as well.
He got lucky against a pretty poor England, in his case it’s just diminishing returns. Neser as a package offers more IMO. Some idiots around in the media and on social media wanted him ahead of Haze. Hilarious.

Xavier Bartlett is the one to start to seriously look at, has a very good FC record after 62 games, can utilise any advantage the deck may provide

Surprised Nesser hasn't played more tests, especially when Haze was out a lot across a couple of years, could easily challenge being the best no8 bat in the world
