Its a tough one as unfortunately we have no specialist batters coming through that warrant selection.
Cam Green has the best record in shield cricket he averages 56. Now it hasn't translated to test cricket yet.
But no one else has knocked the door down that you could say is unlucky they should be playing.
There is a reason we shouldn't be going back to spuds in Harris and Bancroft they have failed multiple times at test level and haven't demanded selection by averaging 60 or scoring 1000 runs a season in shield like a Simon Katich did back in the day that forced the selectors hand to pick him again.
Even then Katich had proved before his final recall he could deliver in test cricket even when he did get dropped a couple times he had 3 or 4 test hundreds to his name.
My mates and I used to take the absolute piss out of Matthew Hayden in his very early years. He was f**king hopeless.
All the best players did it tough in their formulative years - even Mark and Steve Waugh were dropped early in their careers. Yet they came back as better players.
Cameron Green is one of these. He's a serious talent. He needs time.
