I'd agree with that, in that all the drop in pitches have improved over the years. Although, Perth is not the pacey bouncey wicket we once knew at the WACA.
I've actually thought that this Melbourne drop-in pitch has been the best I've seen. A bit in it for everyone.
In saying that, I love the tradition that Sydney is always a spinners pitch and I'd hate to see us lose that and end up with a pitch that we see everywhere else (climatic conditions excluded).
Sydney hasn't really been a spinners deck for years imo.
Its generally dry and flat but it hasn't really turned.
Lyon averages 40 with the ball there and its his worse ground in Australia
Kuldeep Yadav in 2019 for India is the only opposition spinner to take a 5fer there in the past 15 years and that was in the sandpaper summer without Smith and Warner.
We had a batting lineup of Marcus Harris, Shaun Marsh's last test, Marnus was plucked from Redlands to bat at 3 in that game, Pete Handscomb, Tim Paine, Travis Head was still pretty raw then as well.
Like it was one of the worst sides we have put out for a test match in Australia in my life. Thank f**k it rained for 2 days and saved us from an innings defeat.
