Has anyone actually put their hand up and said yep I did it or do they all deny deny deny ?
No one is denying or dodging it ... but i still dont understand exactly what happened

Probably warner will sell his version of events to New Idea one day so he can buy a new oled tv

Well im a f**kin aussie and to me its no different to me being an aussie or a pommy being a pommy and a kiwi being a kiwi

Yup, I get it and I used to think similarly, but in the UK walls are scrawled with graffiti like 'Pakis go home', and even though that is not the intent here (in Aus), it is how some people receive it. It shouldn't be an offensive term, but you can't undo what other f**kwits have done.

No I meant historically with other tampering sanctions. I am satisfied that all 3 Aussies have confessed and owned the issue.

Personally, I think that they are still a close knit team (maybe except for Warner) and are still not prepared to incriminate each other. I can understand why they would do that.
I also think, that this was Warners doing, (my opinion) and no one is prepared to speak up against him.
Anyone notice that out of the 3, Warner is the only one not being made to make a front a press conference? Anyone notice that Smith refused to comment about Warner?

I felt really sorry for Steve Smith during that press conference. In fact, I got quite emotional seeing him having to go through that. Smith is a decent bloke and his major problem probably is that he is too nice.
It's my opinion that this scheme was concocted by another player, and Smith just didn't have the balls to this player that it's just not on. This player may or may not be someone who has had issues in this series previously.

I really hope that Steve Smith has a strong and supportive family and support staff.
Trevor Chappell wrote the other day that he still suffers from his under arm incident. Never received any help and still cops it.
In this day and age, surely that can't be allowed to happen again.

I think you lot might find that Pakistani people or Indians in fact don't really like being called 'Pakis'. It's thanks you our English friends, but the term is the equivalent to the 'N' word.

I don't understand this mentality.
Not in Australia anyway.
We are Australians, and are called Aussies. They are Pakistanis, and are called Pakis.

How did everyone’s lie detectors react to the “has there been any tampering in the past” question ?

I thought his response was 80% convincing.

That was Smith's dad behind him at the press conference. I reckon he'll be ok on that count. And I think, while plenty (typically people who care about cricket when it's an opportunity to whinge about something) will be happy to condemn him to eternity, there are plenty more who will develop some perspective over time, and also take some time to work out exactly what happened (as opposed to reports on day 1).

I agree ... i get the feeling smith is just trying not to dump warner in it .... its why he said "group" initially - and he is definitely trying hard not to dodge anything and point a finger now

f**kin warner

He is supposedly gonna have a presser this evening .... he will probably choose to go clubbing instead

I reckon i have more respect for him now than before

I always found him a bit odd tbh ... but i think he is showing alot of character the way he is handling the hiding

As I said in the follow up post, the term has been used with intent (even if outside our borders). 'Windies' and 'Aussies' are not (or at least have not thus far) used with the same intent. It isn't good that some f**kwits have trashed the use of what was simply the 'diminutive form'.....all I'm s saying that some people of Pakistani or Indian extraction can find the term pretty offensive Again it's all thanks to the far right in the UK.

He is a bit odd, but I don't think he's a bad bloke.

From what I can tell from what we get to observe of Warner's behaviour, I'm less convinced with him (but open to convincing).

Thanks for reinforcing my point. The term is open to interpretation.
Clearly, and thankfully, in this country, it has never been seen as derogatory.

But he's great to watch as a cricketer.
It's the only thing that has ever kept me liking him as a player.
Not any more.
