-He was the instigator of the whole tampering deal, yet Bancroft and Smith were the ones hung out to deal with the media circus
-He was out partying with mates while the team was in damage control after an incident he created
-The stories that the "entire bowling line up" knew what was going on just happened to come exclusively from journalists Warner is close to
-He implicated the bowlers when interviewed by CA despite them (apparently?) having no part in the tampering.

There are stories that members of the side had instructed team management to remove him from the team hotel. Or else there was going to be "an incident". He's cut himself off from the side and removed himself from a social media thingy they use between players.

Smith cant hide behind Warner. He is captain and what he says goes. If he had knowledge of it he is either weak or heavily to blame

Smith didn't hide.

From what's being said, he fronted the media and claimed partial responsibility for planning something he didn't actually plan. Warner clammed up and went out drinking champers with Candy while his team mates were in tatters...and then pushed the blame on others who weren't even involved

That's not to say Smith is innocent, he definitely knew what was going on and made no effort to stop it and he should never captain Australia again. But he definitely comes out of all this a lot better than Warner.

Conn has been twittering shite about football for years. Running football down constantly with exaggerations and tabloid style shit comments and hype.
Why would football even be a blimp on his radar? Cricket is doing fine in this country, or well, it was until this week. Cricket's summers continue to be continually successful and the Big Bash is killing football for 5-6 weeks every year.
He is the media manager of CA. He should have had his head pulled in years ago by Sutherland but hasn't.
This is about football fans telling him that karma is a bitch. It has nothing to do with victim mentality.

Worse still, considering he is the "media" manager of the Australian cricket team, how could he have possibly allowed Steve Smith to front the media after "Tape Gate" and say the things he did?
The guy is out of his depth and is being called out.

Just raised the issue about how inept he is as CA's media manager. And his previous form. And his form since this issue arose has certainly come to the fore.
You are right. He's a f**kwit, and, regardless of what he's said about football in the past, as the media manager of the Aussie cricket team, he has proven that he has no idea..........for allowing this issue to get to this stage. A lid could certainly have been put on this. Right or wrong, what Smith said in that first press conference was outrageous. And Conn is the media manager?

Yep. Given his past history of being a f**kwit it is remarkable that he ever got to be in a leadership role.

...and Smith? What a weak, naive character. If Warner presented such an idea to Clarke, Ponting or Waugh they would have ripped him a new arse and sent him on his way home.

Such a shame that this will tarnish Smith and everything that he has done. Have a feeling that he will be back though. He’s too good a player not to be.
