its sad because it true
Two words have a lot to do with it: James Sutherland.
its sad because it true
James Sutherland hired him, and had been there since 2001. Somehow, he built up enough brownie points when the side was the best in the world to keep him in the job for 17 years.Pat Howard makes the afl guy look like a genius.
In my opinion he has been the biggest problem with Australian Cricket for a long time
Whoring the team out to meaningless one day cricket games while they should of been home preparing for home test series is another. He was also more about making money than administering cricket, which is why he concentrated on the Big Wank and neglected Shield Cricket, so no doubt earned himself big bonuses.
This season we have 8 weeks of shield cricket, 8 f**king weeks for what used to take up the whole summer season, but hey he's making money.
Is there any ODI's on free to air? I watch cricket but not really a follower as such but would always turn it on, but I had zero clue the game was even on? I don't have Fox and don't watch 7. I just put a telly out on the back deck near the pool and get abit of creek to coast now.
Crappy TV deal.
The only home internationals you will see on FTA is test matches on ch7
(though 9 are doing the ashes and world cup in 2019 and well as t20 WC in 2020)
ODI and t20 wont be shown on free to air - MENS version
From 2019 Ch7 will cover the Womens ODI and t20

And it's not 8 near consecutive weeks of shield cricket. Sutherland, whose main claim to fame prior to joining Cricket Australia was being the CFO of Carlton when they got busted for cheating the salary cap (that and the fact that he went to the 'right school') has a lot to answer for
To be honest, the fallout from the eelsWhat a f**king shambles this is, but tbh, I'm so glad that the higher management are also copping the flack, and are leaving, either enforced or voluntary.
It's about time the powers that be have suffered consequences for the state that Aussie cricket is in.
I wish it happened in other sports, like RL and the A-League. Both are also run by amateurs.
No mate everything and everyone was awesome at the club we just needed some more staff. To be honest, the fallout from the eels
review should have seen a similar cleanout.
