SMH reporting McSweeney will be dropped for the 4th Test. Poor bastard has been hung out to dry by the selectors. Made to debut in an unfamiliar position, meanwhile Marnus gets a free ride despite worse numbers this series in the position McSweeney should be in.... Usman not doing any better than McSweeney at the top of the order either....
Drop the only bloke in his 20’s while keeping a bunch of mid 30 over hill players dreadfully out of form. CA from top to bottom are full of deadset clueless morons. I said at the start of the summer he’d be the one to get the bullet if things aren’t going well.

pathetic

if you pick a young bloke in the team you've got to persevere for at least a series, especially when McSweeney has done better than some of the other so called batsmen

I would have kept Konstas away from Bumrah the kid is 19.

If Konstas goes cheaply in these tests just like McSweeney what do the selectors do moving forward. Drop him as well then you may have burnt not 1 but 2 future test batsman in one summer while the senior players can barely get one off the square themselves.

Throw in McSweeney not being an opener anyway we have tossed away a future 3 or 4 for the time being.

Sounds like Bailey & McDonald have followed the Bea Arthur blueprint of success.

Drop the young kids and keep the older underperforming players.

Lot of hate for Marnus here...

He's out of form, but he's a class player.

He probably shouldn't have kept his spot ahead of McSweeney, who has done well, but he will come good.
I don't think it's hate for Marnus, it's just people rightly calling it how it is. Marnus has been horribly out of form for the best part of 2 years, even when he was "in form", he was getting dropped early and looked shakey on occasions.

Nothing against the bloke at all but the way he has gone about his business lately and the returns he's had, I reckon he'd be a little embarrassed and feeling for McSweeney tbh and rightly so...

Marnus can throw down a few overs, too.

I like Marnus, but I agree that he should have been dropped - he needs to rediscover his form.

The only reason McSweeney was picked ahead of Konstas was because they were not worried about ruining McSweeney. I say screw that get Konstas in there even if it is premature.
Steve Waugh is a good example of a fella picked way before he was ready but it turned out good long term. Same with Steve Smith.
Plonk Konstas at 6 for a few years.
Also Bumrah is probably out injured.
Also Id rather have SK in instead of playing T20.

Waughs first 12 tests he averaged 27.26 (worse than Marsh)

His first 5 tests 12.55

Good luck Steve Waugh turning out good if he played today, be dropped as quick as McSweeney
