Do what Steve Waugh would do.
Make them suffer and continue batting for minimum time. Then send them back out.
Then go hard.
Day 5 pitch and the pressure is on them to survive.
If we don’t have enough now we never will, we need to win this game India hold the trophy. Sydney could rain for 5 days.

I'm thinking the target is now out of question for the Indians. The question is, can our team lift as a whole to put one hand on the BG Trophy.

Yep, I reckon we've probably batted too long already. Have brought the draw back in to the equation...

Surely with a lead of 300 we should have declared tonight and let the BOAT do his thing on a day 5 turner..... Where's our confidence in the great bald hope??!!

A declaration should only be considered the next morning. It leaves the opposition stewing overnight.

Yeh. I get that.
I don't know if this Indian team is different, but I've seen sub-continent teams crumble in the past under such pressure. In fact, I've seen any team crumble. Especially the Poms which is always sweet to see.
We'll see what happens. I'm aware we really need to win this test going into Sydney.
I hope Starc is ok to bowl. Otherwise, we'll struggle.

Also, I'm sure you all saw what pathetic appeals they were making this afternoon where the ball was missing the stumps by 6 inches plus, trying to put pressure on the umpires.
Pathetic bunch of cheats they are.
Thankfully, the umpires have been very good this test.

This will be a classic for the ages. Too bad it has to be in Victoria.

The variable is that it is a drop in wicket to appease the AFL so we really don't know what it will do on Day 5.
It looked pretty benign late on Day 4 so this might be our killer if it doesn't deteriorate. The weather is fine tomorrow and not overly hot so not sure whether it will do that.
f**k the AFL.
In saying that, the Melbourne pitch was always a nothing pitch anyway.
Thank goodness the SCG Trust has always refused the AFL's requests for a drop-in.

I agree. The umpiring has been excellent. I think their appeals were brought about by a combination of frustration and available DRS calls.

Should have a short crack at them before stumps day 4 to see if we came up with a cheap wicket (or two). We've got to get them all out anyway and need to give ourselves enough time to do so - with a day's worth of runs as a lead already.

The only thing I will give that state is the attendances. They have been amazing.
87000 day 1.
85000 day 2.
68000 day 3.
46000 day 4.
Tomorrow could be big.

Can't wait for the Ashes next year and the Barmy Army, although I can't see as many Poms at the tests as Indians there this year.
Who says test cricket is dead?
