God you're a pest. Chase made the right decision. There were a whole bunch of things that led to that final try. Fein needed to move forward to cut down Williams options instead he planted his feet this allowed Williams to come at our line and it also gave Joel Thompson a lot more space to run that inside line. If Fein moves forward the play is dead. As soon as Chase moves in his outside men need to follow that way the only way they can score is around us not through us.
Agreed 100% however, I wonder if Price has the sense to recognise this.
Hornby, Fein and Young are all trying their hearts out; that is the type of player they are. Bennett instilled into these players the belief that if they put their heart into it, they would get the job done. Unfortunately these three players are well past their best and can only display the level of talant needed in first grade over very short stints. They just aren't up to it anymore.
As I said before the experiment is over because it has failed. Trying to play a fast razzel dazzel game with the player squad selected each week just could not work. Now it is time to make the big changes and set up for next year. You never know this might lift the team and even jag a final eight spot.
First step move Soward to half, Vidot to the cutters and Morris and Nightingale back to their wing spots. Experiment with fullback starting with Goodwin at the back. Put King at 5/8 for now.
Second step give De Belin, Stockwell, King and Marketo maximum game time and individual personal coaching from this week on.
Thirdly, give notice to Hornby, Fein and all the non performing fringe players that this is their final year with the Dragons. Also put Price on notice - if he doesw not turn things around, he will not be required as head coach next year.
