I came here to get away from AFL, but most threads on the main board seem to be littered with references to AFL.

Well a current NRL rep player was poached by the AFL just last week.

Go to Big Poofy (the AFL site) and you'll see plenty of RL themed threads on their main board. They had one a week or so ago about how RL was dying.

I'd certainly expect this thread to leave the main board and go to where it belongs pretty smartly.

The problem is Samsung sponsor them both, and give the Roosters a third of what they give Essendon for essentially the same thing.

From his point of view, he has achieved just about everything there is to achieve in the NRL, and wants to challenge himself by doing something he thinks he can be good at.

Of course it will directly affect the Broncos and their fans, but they have shown in the past they can attract great players and should get over his loss quickly. Not wanting to play against his Broncos teammates also must have weighed on his mind and influenced his decision.

Certainly GC17 have taken a calculated risk by signing Hunt, but the upside definitely out weighs the downside. If it doesn't work out, GC17 will have it's tail between it's legs, not the AFL.

Your only posts in the NRL forum and all you've done is talk up the AFL.

It looks to be your preferred sport.

funny thing is that on the AFL main board.. Rugby League is a common occurence on the first few pages
