I am trusting in the opinion of Wayne Bennett who would know Deans attributes better than you and I.
He continually has stated Dean will be a successful first grade coach
Dean is one option and a sound one.
Outside the club go out and sign Jason Taylor,he is the reason the dogs are firing this year as the new addition to the coaching staff.

Bennett also rated Price at Dragons, Henjack at Broncs, Stone at Knights, Jason D at Rabbitt's.
How'd that workout, all sacked for poor resultsso appointment on a recommendation by him not very wise imo.

Bennett is one of my favourites for giving us 2009 - 2011. However, his track record for endorsing the next coach after he leaves is horrendous.

First example is incorrect, Henjak was the coach after Bennett, Griffin took over after Henjak. I don't think Bennett would've been weighing in on the Broncos head coaching position 2-3 years after he left.
