I'd say Sailor would be as effective at fullback as Dufty. Too small and over a season would not be durable. Historically, the lock position needs to have a player with great defensive ability, I'm afraid that this is not one of Leilua's strength. Is Niko really a recruitment target?

Yet, you’ve nominated Gigot at fullback, who is commensurate in size to Dufty and Sailor?

I’m going to say with a fair amount of confidence that Lomax will start in the no. 1 jumper. We all know deep inside the collective cockles of our hearts that Aitken plus Lafai will be walk up starts at centre...AGAIN.

C'mom mickey surely there must something better on offer than what you posted?
Do you really think Nene is a good option for us as he has shown to be a liability and unsettled everywhere he has been.
James Graham is well past it and has nothing left to give in a game that is vastly different to the one he started out in.
Corbin had his chance this year and he did squiggly dot and yes I know he has the injury but before and after that he produced very little.
Well the entire JDB has been a fiasco from the moment he went out on the piss and the club pandering to him has created nothing but trouble and if he is the catalyst behind Frizz going then even more will go I suspect.

You’re too harsh on Korbin S. (who I thought went alright) but the rest of this is faultless. It gives me the giggles that some folk think MacDonald is first grade standard, although this maybe a reflection on Ravalawa and Pearson who are both deeply shithouse.

I have heard that the Broncos are going to release Oates and Fifita and are hoping to recruit Holmes for 2020 and beyond. Why is it that we aren't in the hunt for any of these 3 players.

I've been advocating for Lomax to be our long term fullback for a long time however, it seems while ever Mary is in charge this just won't happen. If Aitken and Dufty move on, it makes sense to put Lomax at right centre. From that point on we need a GOOD first grade fullback. Who knows what the likes of Millward and Mary will come up with.

I wouldn’t hold it against a few of the cup players, their coach was worse than Mary if that’s possible . I seen a few of their games and when they finish Minor Premiers I was amazed. Lachlan Timms is a guy who must be high on the radar, possible Kerr too. If Flannagan is madeassist coach and works with these guys , dragons will be ok. In Gus’s review that’s what he suggested dragons to get Flannagan as assist coach. But it depends on how much input he is allowed by Idiot coach. I just don’t fathom how Aitkin went from being in the picture for SOO and now he is what we see of him on the scrap heap . But will be interesting who becomes cup coach and McIdiots coaches.

I rate Timm and Kerr but have never rated Aitken.

Josh Morris said no, not ever, McDonald would be cheap and we know what we are getting, I'd prefer Jack Bird. He has been out for a while but if recovery is good, imagine what he can do (6, 3, 4, 13 or 7 in a pinch plus he's a local and now we have Flanno he would be keen I'd say after being told to look elsewhere by the Donkeys

I agree, a better coach (or assistant coach) could make a big difference to his game. I keep reading that he is too small but he is the same weight as Papenhuyzen (83kg) but he doesnt run or defend with the same purpose which a better coach will instruct him on. I would give him one more year to improve those areas rather than buy a reserve grader.

I have read a number of posts on the forum that Timm has gone elsewhere next year, understand why he would the way he was treated this year but is it speculation or is it a done deal ?

Papenhuzyen is 21 and naturally is a much more physical player than Dufty who is 24 in January. Dufty has been given his chance and hasn't taken it. We should not muck around and keep experimenting with fullback, we need a genuine gun there.

My comment was based on the fact that it is reported we dont have any money to spend to buy a gun so I would stick with Dufty for one more year under the influence of a better coach (assistant) rather than buy another reserve grader which has been suggested. If we had the money to spend I agree with you totally.

I have assumed that De Belin will be unavailable, Frizell will be let go and Field and Timm will not be resigned and that no NRL standard players will be signed due to poor roster management. Ravalawa makes too many errors. The Club has a poor record in letting contracted NRL players go before their contracts are up with disastrous consequences including Brett Morris, Mike Cooper, Joel Thompson, Nene Mac Donald and Gareth Widdop so the release of Frizell would seem to be a formality probably along with Dufty, Field and Timm no being resigned. However I would re-sign Timm.
A pretty average side, but I’m afraid, any way I look at it our side will be average in 2020.

I think if they really wanted to they could find the money/cap. But if we don't, we have tried Dufty and he is not the answer, there is no reason to persevere. We would be better off even if we signed someone like Andre Niko, cheap for a fullback, young, big and if he doesn't make it not any more of a negative impact than keeping Dufty. But there is the chance he will be good.
