By implosion, I assume you mean expansion ;)

My God 1.6 million for one team - pass the tissues. I'll have to correct you there though anyone that lives in Sydney has 8.5 teams to choose from. Perth and Adelaide are populations centres of 1.8m and 1.6m respectively and have zero teams because there are too many in Sydney.

We agree on Manly - we really need to return the derby with the Bears to RL. Considering the venues that both play out of and the crowd numbers for Manly recently, the NSW Cup would be a perfect fit for it

? Are you aware that you are referring to established clubs with established fanbases! ? This 'established' seems to be a key word missed in your fanciful ideas!?

Yes I am aware of the history of Manly and North Sydney Bears that is why I am committed to reviving this traditional and famous rivalry in the NSW Cup ;)

Bring back the North Sydney derby! RL deserves it!!

Lol. Nonsense . You are showing no respect for these clubs that absolutely deserve top flight status. Nothing less. The fans will not accept such a reduction in status. And these fans are not only generational and in this region of Sydney but are also Australia wide. So instead the lunatics option is trumpeted repeatedly by the 'pied piper 'again and again. Suppose in your eyes there is not much to lose!? Just the credibility and relevance of this successful and well established, world renowned and envied rugby league competition! (The most popular rugby competition bar none in the world-union or league)

Thank you - we finally agree that reuniting the bears and Manly in the NSW Cup shows them the respect that they deserve.

It appears that the Manly fans are not accepting an NRL team at Brooky at the moment either so....

Mr Reuniter

Moreso a respectful regard for proven and established clubs with widespread fan bases ! And an advocate for genuine expansion without dismantling a well known and respected competition. Not really a fan of destroying the vibrant and well known foundations of a successfull and long-time competition that is envied by many around the world

We agree! Finally - reunite the Bears and Manly in the NSW Cup and let the RL world outside of a few suburbs of northern Sydney move on and grow

Nope! The Bears and Manly were never together! It was a shotgun wedding brought about by a flawed superleague 'agreement'. There was no unity in that. In fact probably only one merger made sense in all of the mess from superleague: St George Illawarra Dragons. That worked due to historical links, same colours and junior development ties with St George and Illawarra. Such links/similarities were not in play for the other dubious shot gun mergers.

With the 8000 Manly fans and the 1500 Bears fans it would be quite an occasion at NS Oval.

I note you are still making incorrect assessments of fan bases. Shame and it looks like this is something you are holding onto. No regard for generational, locational and outside of area support. Really dumb! But that's your go. All one can do is repeatedly point out such factors and see you ignore them over and over again. And it's the usual suspects too.

9000 at NS oval with a return derby of 10,000 at Brookvale. Perfect NSW cup game day events and venues. It would be great to see the NSW cup getting such crowds and exposure and becoming a really strong second tier comp. Manly and others dropping down into it will create a vibrant new future for NSWRL.

Typical from a guy that doesn't recognise the widespread support of such clubs outside of Sydney. Not biting. Just confirming your ignorance once again.

I don't think it's that he doesn't recognise it.. just that he believes the long term support for a Perth team (for example) would dwarf the "outside of Sydney" support for Norths (for example) that you speak of. And I have to say, I tend to agree with him.

We dissagree. Think there is room for both clubs and supporters.

I'm not talking about a merger. I'm talking about reuniting them for the purposes of the rivalry. The NSW Cup would be a perfect spot for them to resume their battles.
