If you hate Morts...

I guess from a certain perspective Morts isn't quite as bad as what a lot of blokes death ride him for.
I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for 2010, but I sure he hope he doesn't take the experience from a whole season of first grade for granted in 2011.

I don't hate Mortz, I just don't like him playing as an organizing half. I just don't see any natural technical half skills in him.

He has ticker and tries hard. So does Robson.

I still think 14 is his best position at this point in time.

yeh enough on halves. i played with a bloke who's down at parra now named patty o'hanlon, played A grade with him in mackay when he was 16/17 yr old and mate he was just all class. he would belt and run through men. but i was speaking to a mate of mine who now does recruitment work at the storm earlier in the week and he said that pattys been injury riddled and maybe on the outer at the club?? has anyone got any info on this coz he was a gun and even the games i saw him play in last yr although his team was gettin flogged, he was still a class above the pack. im sure there would be plenty of clubs who would snap him up pretty quickly too. i know what pattys like as well hes a very laid back character and somethin like that would probably not give him any drive to try and succeed, instead he would probly just wanna go cruisin with his mates and forget about footy lol. i hope this isnt the case

Everyone here has heard of him and rates him highly. He's widely considered to be one of our best young forwards.

But if his attitude's not 100% Kearney might not want him. Injury's a good time to see what blokes are made of and if he's not dedicated to his recovery he probably would be on the outer.

I don't even dislike Morts a little bit ... I am, however, a little frustrated that we are in a position that we seemingly have no other option but to persevere with him in the halves regardless of form because of a sinister lack of depth.

Depth will marginally improve in the halves this year, but really all other options are just as untested and risky. I'm not surprised that Kearney is talking him up ... it's better than the alternative, given the situation.

im hoping that this year we will have an actual gameplan for when its the fifth tackle in the opposition 20 rather than the current plan of lets throw it to morts with 3 forwards running at him and hope he can get a miracle ball away under pressure

Not if Murray's in Long Bay it won't.

Who have we got? Morts, Robbo, McGuire, Murray, Humble. Five options isn't too bad. Plus Breust was asked to train with the NRL side so he could probably play NRL in the event of a horrific injury toll.

Like the Dragons - Soward and Hornby never get the ball unless they have passing options either side. Hayne staying out of first receiver would be a good start.
