One thing I will say about the Knights chances of making the 8!

Brian Smith is the King of the 2 competition points!!

Raiders - Maybe if they played all their 26 games in Canberra they might sneak into the 8!

Those will not be the halves.

Luke Lewis is the favourite to play 5/8, with either Jarrod Sammut or Joe Williams playing halfback. Richie Williams won't be anywhere near first grade barring injury or major defence improvements.
I'm expecting our backs and halves to be:
1. Rhys Wesser
2. Geoff Daniela/Luke Rooney/Brad Tighe
3. Michael Jennings
4. Maurice Blair
5. Michael Gordon
6. Luke Lewis
7. Jarrod Sammut
Which is quiet a pacey backline with plenty to offer in attack.

who the f**k is gonna kick?

That backline is great. For the opposition.

What's penriths gameplan for next year, rely on line breaks from their own half to score trys? The only guy who can kick the ball that you'd have playing in your side is Priddis. Good luck with that

No Sydney teams in the top 5? Not going to happen. Eels have an excellent team and should precent that from happening.

No Gower, No Panthers.... Will not make the 8

I'm not suggesting we'll make the 8 but the loss of Gower is a big step forward for the club. Crap player - glad he's gone.

We had Gower last year and look we're we finished.

Jarrod Sammut until this season, spent his time in the halves. He certainly has a better kicking game then Luke Priddis.

edit
And we can easily include another kicking option on the bench. I'd go with Masada Iosefa personally. Heck, start him at lock. He and Sammut work well together as it is. But until he makes his first grade debut, just go with Joe or Richie Williams on the bench.

Sammut's still very ordinary. I've seen him play a fair bit of lower grade footy, and he couldn't sustain any pressure with his kicks at that level.

If that is the kicking arsenal Penrith are going to run with, then it will be a very long season. With all his inconsistency, Joe Williams has to be in your starting lineup if you have any hope of remaining competitive with your kicking game.

A kicker is pretty useless if they're sitting on the bench. I'm pretty sure you need to use them 9 times out of 10 at the end of a set.

Jarrod Sammut has enjoyed ripping teams apart his entire life. Never has he had any problems sustaining pressure. He is a very similar player to Preston Campbell.

As for a kicker on the bench... it's to increase options and change the attack if need be. Jarrod Sammut doesn't have to start at halfback. You can have Joe Williams start and Jarrod Sammut on the bench to change things up. The point is that whatever way we go, we aren't going to have two weak defending halves starting. If Sammut AND Williams start. Sammut will be playing fullback.

You are the optomist skeepe.

I think our best possible finish is around 7th or 8th. Realistically, I think about 10th.

im suprised quite afew people put the warriors to miss the 8... im picking them to be well in the top 4... the only player theve lost who performed well for them this season was george gattis.

i had to laugh at whoever it was that said the knights pack was one of the best in the comp.... i just cant really see it... Bulldogs, Souths, Eels, Roosters, Warriors, Melbourne, Manly & Nth QLD all have much better packs IMO...

warriors overacheived last year imo. They have average halves and hooker. Price and Wiki are another year older. I will be very surprised if they make the top 4 again.
