Steve Smith managed to get through 107 deliveries for his 41, decent effort.

The Big Show is saving his energy for the real thing, he's too classy to waste time with this XI.

I just checked the updates on Cricinfo & Bird has bowled 5 overs,4 maidens,0 for 1..

Patto & Sidds are going for a few at the other end..

That should rap up Moises' position at 6 or 7 in the team. The tour matches should decide whether Maxwell or X partners Lyon.

Unlikely, the top 5 are already set, so it is an absolute chook raffle what they do at 6.

1. Warner
2. Cowan
3. Hughes
4. Watson (He should open but they will give Cowan this series)
5. Clarke

Now comes the interesting part...Smith, Maxwell, Henriques, Khawaja. They are all vying for one position. My gut feeling is they like the idea of Maxwell there as he offers part time spinning ability. Is it any good, not so sure but I haven't see a lot of him in First Class cricket. Now the first tour game the points go to Henriques but I can see them giving Maxwell first crack in the tests.

7. Wade
8. Siddle
9. Starc/Johnson/Bird
10. Pattinson
11. Lyon

I don't see 1 tour match changing their thoughts as that no6 spot will depend on conditions. You won't play Henriques on a rank turner, you might at Chennai as it is the 'quickest' of the venues. However, I am far from convinced they will go away from their original thought of Glenn Maxwell.

They sent the Big Show out to open in the second innings, what on earth could the point of that be.

Wouldn't matter what Henriques did, they wont go in with one spinner and I dont think we will play Lyon and Hauritz which gives us a very long tail, unless we only play 2 quicks.

What ever we do we seem to lack balance and I just cant see where the big No Show will fit as he just makes our tail even longer.

Geez, they couldn't be any more obvious about their blatant favoritism/obsession for the Big Show.

I'd put your house on Hauritz bot getting a run this series Twiz ;)

I reckon if Henriques was to play we would have to go in with both Lyon and Doherty in the XI.

I don't think that will happen in the 1st Test.

Maxwell is lock for Chennai. No matter the outcome of the Tour games.

I guess Lyon and Hauritz with Henriques at 6 gives us 2 1/2 quicks.

I think he is worth more then 1 quick, out bowled Siddle, Bird and Pattinson and can reverse the ball. IMO he is a better bowler then Watson who avgs 28 in test cricket with the ball.

Doherty or Maxwell will be a second bowler IMO with two pace bowlers and Lyon.

Dont see the point of 3 pace bowlers with Henriques. Wade at 6, Henriques at 7 and Maxwell or Doherty instead of your Starc/johnson/bird option
