We don't have a Laxman, Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, etc down the other end scoring very quickly. E\ven Clarke at his best goes at SR: 50ish only. You can't have two of them.

 Do you even watch Test cricket? For starters Laxman and Tendulkar are well capable of stonewalling and often did in tandem with Dravid. Yuvraj Singh is hopeless at test cricket, and only Sehwag really operates at the 'attacking' strike rate constantly.

Once again, *there is nothing wrong with a low strike rate in test cricket*.
In fact if you can bat time, it is an asset.

There is a small issue that Panesar and Swann are so much better than Lyon and Doherty it isn't funny. You don't pick a spinner for the sake of it. Jimmy Anderson showed that quicks get wickets too in India. Doherty going at an average of 50 won't be playing unless tehre is a rank turner, it is what they said before the tour! LOL at your team...you aint not playing the vice captain for starters!

If Watson isn't bowling he can't be an auto selection considering his poor batting performances recently in tests. I would probably play him ahead of Cowan or Khawaja if he performs on the tour matches but I was going off current form.
Panesar and Swann are much better then Lyon and Doherty but they are what we have and are our best options. On the sub continent they both will turn the ball, I could ripe a few there. Watch Panesar and Swann, a lot of their wickets were due to natural variation and bowling stump to stump, something our spinners can do. Two spinners is a must

If we want to go down the two spinners route and I hate it, Agar is a better tweaker than Doherty not to mention a better batsman! Our strength is our quicks not our spinners. Watson will play end of story they wouldn't name him to sit on his rear end in India, frankly you speak about form...sorry but tell me what for Khawaja has...go on this will be very good and pretty comical...was it his 3 off 15 or was it his other score...was it scoring 31 against a chump side....Watson scores a 100, a 70 and he is the one out of form? Panesar and Swann put "revs" on the ball that is what gets them wickets...and it did in India last time.

This hold especially true in India where slow, low wickets can make it very difficult to score
