The magistrate did.

Oh please, it was all swept under the carpet for a reason. Huge media beatup over nothing. Greg Inglis is the Lebron James of the NRL. The media attacking him for nothing. IMO Greg Inglis is the best back in the comp.

All a non issue. Crowe is offering to pay all of his legal bills if he comes to Souths. All GI has to do is agree and then the Storm will release him because they'll have the bill paid. They're happy, GI is happy, we're very happy.
How's your salary cap going. So far in these pages you've been touting that you're going to sign all the burgess brothers, cronk and now inglis.

Seriously? Your on the anti Lebron bandwagon? The guy has been crucified for being part of a tv show. That's it, hasn't raped anyone, hasn't attacked anyone, fulfilled his contract (unlike many stars, NRL or NBA). The bloke had a tv show, that noone was forced to watch, and he's treated like the love child of Michael Vick and Tiger Woods.

The Cronk stuff was an obvious joke. Burgess twins would be toyota cup, and we haven't made a significant buy in 12 months, so we can afford Inglis. And if we couldn't Crowe wouldn't be talking to him.

Every season there is a big name linked with Souths, but somehow they end up signing over the hill players who are looking for an easy retirement. It amazes me how their management keep making ther same recruitment mistakes year in year out

On topic, GI should man up and pay his own bloody bills. As we've seen these past couple of days, NRL players are lucky they get paid at all the way they carry on off the field. Most would be lucky to land a gig holding a f*cking lollypop sign

Even then half of them would hold it upside down.

Ever heard of Dave Taylor? You're thinking of Souths from several years ago. We've gotten away from paying too much for players that are too old. We got Taylor a young and improving player with rep talent. We didn't waste money on has been all of this year, and so we have something for this unexpected opportunity that has come up.

Taylor and Inglis are the sort of players we target now, guys in their early 20s with their best years ahead of them instead of behind them.

Edit: and about the bills. If rusty is willing to pay his bills, why not. The Storm screwed him over once they learnt they couldn't keep him.

And another thing. Wouldn't it be an awesome feel good story if the battlers, the working mans team steal an origin and international representative from the two news ltd teams. Robin Hood style.

Oh im sorry, Dave Taylor actually got you to the finals series this year did he?

Im not having a go at you or Souths fans, nor the club but rather the ones running it. Signing Dave taylor and Inglis is not going to fix anything. You pay overs for these guys for little return. They get you a few headlines and the hype machine builds and then what?

Imo Souths would do better to fly under the radar but here we go again with the rumours of big signings and coach sackings..

Battlers don't wear armani. when you say Robin Hood style I hope you don't mean Russell's recent effort.

Dave Taylor and Greg Inglis are 21 and 23. They've already played for Qld and Greg for Australia. This isn't a Peachy or Wesser style signing, where we've got guys with not much left in the tank. We got two representative talents not even in their prime. They're both capable of being game changers.

As for Taylor and 2010, it was an injury filled year, the odds of us getting as many injuries in 2011 is very unlikely.

And about coach sackings? If your talking about the Bennett rumours, I think almost every team in the comp would sack their coach for Bennett. He is the undisputed best coach in the league.

That was the joke. Maybe he liked playing Robin Hood so much he decided to do a bit of it in reallife.

And about Battlers not wearing armani...battlers with good style do wear armani, it just might take them a month to afford a suit.

I got the joke.
I've heard that the negotations between RC and GI are a bit like Master and commander. Or the sum of us.

This is getting ugly, we are likely to lose one of the brightest stars in our game to French Rugby. It will be a devastating loss, not a loss we can't overcome though. The thing that irks me is this CAN be resolved. Let's hope that happens.

Won't lose him. He wouldn't be in talks with Russ if French rugby seemed like an attractive option to him. At this point it's just a last resort, he comes across as the kind of guy who'd prefer to play here. He can go overseas and cash in at 33, not 23.

Sorry if this has already been covered, but something I dont understand.
The legal bills cover season 2008/2009.
Melbourne have already been caught to be well over the cap at this stage. What difference does an extra $100 000 over make considering how big the breach was?

It's got nothing to do with that. They're just pissed they spent that much money paying the legal bills of a bloke they don't have anymore. They wouldn't have done it if they knew they were about to lose him. Now they want their cash back. If he stayed and say Cronk left, this wouldn't be an issue.
