Inglis to Souths..

The same Parramatta who, using the same halves they will have next year, possibly would have won the comp in 2009 if it wasn't for a certain team of scumbags cheating the cap?

For sure. Because if Melbourne had played to the cap, Souths would have bought Inglis in 2009 and obviously beaten everyone that year too......

Success in Rugby League these days doesn't necessarily go to who has the best players but rather who can get the best out of their own players.

We have a 32 man squad. 24 of them either came through our system and have not made their first grade debut or made their first grade debut with the club. This juniors argument is tired, antiquated and not fit for modern sport. If a club signs a kid at 16, 17 or 18 and they go on to make their debut with that club than they should be considered a 'junior' for development purposes. Most clubs would have similar numbers, even the much maligned Roosters.

I thought every NRL side had a top 25? Or do Souths have such a salary cap busting team that they can afford another 7 more than most teams.

Every side has a top 25 who are each on atleast minimum wage, there can then be other plays outside that who earn less then minimum is how I understand it.

That's it. I don't know who our top 25 would be, but could guess and probably be very close to the mark. But we have 32 contracted players who are either not eligible for the NYC or are eligible gor the NYC but in the top 25. I'm sure if you go to the squad sections of every NRL club website they will list more than 25 players.

Hot tip Mr T - when a guy is sitting there talking about how many pubes he has and is giving details of his sexuality he's definitely taking the piss.

How it's got to over 300 pages combined of this guy and there are STILL people out there trying to 'pwn' him is beyond me. Even the Dragons fans have worked it out and are ignoring him.

only a few of the very slow remain...
Rocky, the pity the fool line was taking the piss.
And there are actually fools like BM walking around in society who tell you every detail of their little life, particularly in the age bracket that this guy claims to be in (not all of this age bracket but some).

Whether this guy, or any other poster, is a troll or not is in the eye of the beholder - if this forum and its participants play an important and serious part of an individual's life and a 'troll's' posts affect them enough to want to 'pwn' him then a troll he is.

Likewise, those who feel the need to speculate about trolls and alert others of their existence may want to lighten up a little, unless the said troll is offensive or forum clogging.

I for one treat it as a bit of fun and banter and my posts towards this guy are purely throwaway words forgotten as soon as I hit submit. Life's too short to be bothered by a username or avatar.

FTR - good luck to GI and souths in season 2011. I believe they'll make the 8 and then some.

See, we're not that different. We agree on some things.

Greg Inglis is pretty damn delusional.... or just stupid. Probably stupid.

Pressed about cousin Beau Champion's departure to the Melbourne Storm so the South Sydney salary cap audit would balance, Inglis said: "In no way was he forced out of this club, for me to join this club.

Just a coincidence that the NRL wouldn't sanction your deal with Souths until Champion was forced out, errr, treated like sh*t, sorry that should be chose to leave the club that he loved and wanted to be part of for the rest of his life?

Add this to the planes not flying thing, and the fact that he thinks he had a chat with Gallop on New Years Eve before the NRL accepted the contract (which happened on Christmas Eve for those not paying attention) and we have possibly the stupidest man to ever play the game.

Perhaps I'm thinking about it too logically, but perhaps he means that since Champion had a contract for 2011 that he couldn't be FORCED to leave. He could be asked, encouraged and urged ... but he couldn't be forced.

I think Beau saw this as a "pro and con" situation. Being "forced" to a team where there won't be that much competition for his spot in 2011, while enjoying the benefits of having the best fullback, the best hooker and one of the best halfbacks in your side, doesn't sound so bad really.

Sure, he dreamed of being a Rabbitoh for life, but that probably wouldn't have happened anyway. This way, be gives himself a very good chance to take his game to the next level and he has a contract in his favour for the years beyond 2011.

I wouldn't feel bad about "doing that" to Champion if I was Inglis either.

Nice spin.

But the reality is that Champion was forced out of the club so that Inglis could sign. Whether it was being cut, or threatened with an uncertain future after his contract ran out matters not. He was forced out, one way or another.

No amount of spin doctoring is going to change that simple fact.

Spin-schmin.

If Inglis hadn't have been signed, Champion would be a Bunny in 2011. No arguments.

But I just don't see how this is a bad deal for Beau or why anyone would be too angsty about it. I'm very confident that Champion will benefit a great deal from the move ... even if he only ends up playing one season in Melbourne.

Furthermore, if he really didn't see an advantage in the situation himself, I doubt he would have agreed to it. He had the contract. He had the power ... I think he used that power to get the best possible outcome for himself, to be honest.

The only spin I see is the folks who want to imbue the whole situation with more angst and drama then really exists. If you want cheesy drama, go watch Home and Away.

I like the part where he talks about how Beau will have better opportunities at Melbourne because he'll have a better coaching staff around him...

I'm sure Lang loved reading that quote

Inglis, looking fit and trim at 112kg in his new Rabbitohs training gear, spoke today about the season ahead, wearing the cardinal and myrtle of the Rabbitohs.
GI is down to just 112 kilos already. He'll be under 110 by the time the season rolls around. The world's greatest back, Greg "big game" Inglis, will be a lean and mean fighting machine ready to lead us on our round 1 demolition of Easts. And then demolishing the rest of the competition during the rest of the year. Then winning the GF.
