Judiciary: NRL Round 3 vs Dolphins
Wests Tigers winger Sunia Turuva has been charged with a Grade 1 Crusher Tackle after last night's win over the Dolphins in Redcliffe.

There are a lot of rumours swirling around, hard to know what to believe.
Until tomorrow.
Agree, though I don't think they will risk Skelton, especially with a hammy. He's too important for us.I hope this is true though. We need those two on the park as much as possible.
Samuela had a much improved performance last week as well.
He needs a nude nut again as he looked tougher.I hope this is true though. We need those two on the park as much as possible.

Agree, he's hard to spot on the field. He needs a nude nut again as he looked tougher.
That's a pretty good result considering he may have been out injured for a week.
Luai - 1 week unless he contests it.
That template was set last year with the Solomona tackle. For that type of tackle / head knock someone has to pay regardless whose fault it is. Might as well be the tackler. Sefarth got off pretty much tho. That's a pretty good result considering he may have been out injured for a week.
Seyfarth got off with a fine. How that was referred has got me stuffed.
The template is set now. If you're running at a bigger bloke just run head first into their shoulder. Penalty and suspension for the defender every single time. Except if you're us running into Payne Haas.
The grading reflects the intent as well, not just the outcome/injury.That template was set last year with the Solomona tackle. Someone’s has to pay for a dangerous head knock regardless whose fault it is. Might as well be the tackler. Sefarth got off pretty much tho.
Is why I thought solomona would get off with an identical “tackle” But he got punished
Bring back the biff. hahahaThe grading reflects the intent as well, not just the outcome/injury.
If a player slips in the wet and drops his height and the tackler's original line was below the eventual contact area then a penalty/on report is still necessary.
However in a civil court, if there is no intent often your found not guilty unless there is recklessness involved.
In other words the perpetrator should have known what was going to happen and put in place measures to prevent it.
If a footballer causes a death, if there was no intent, and with a good lawyer, a lot of these cases would be hard to get a conviction. Should the tackler have known the ball carrier was going to slip lower....in most cases NO.
Because the NRL are concerned about their duty of care regarding the prevention of head knocks it's becoming a real grey area.
The game has been cleaned right up. No player goes out to cause physical damage to another player. Hard tackles yes, but not permanent serious injury.
