People are under-estimating Gallant as a signing for us. If he did not get injured, the Tigers would have made the finals last year (LOL - that is why I like him even more)....
Agree with all points about him modelling his game on Bowen, and for that, although he won't be the same calibre as Bowen, it means we are not missing that sort of game. With Bowen's injury problems, it means we have a fit Gallant running at thunderous speeds.
Then the signing gets better. People would forget Bowen had to set up a pass for a centre, or wing, or get smashed by the defence before backing up and helping Payney and JT attack. We have tried so hard to find a 5/8 to compliment JT's game, and although Bowen seemed an answer, him moving out of 1 was too big of a risk (to hurt our running game).
Having Gallant means we keep the attacking option from the back. Bowen gets more time to attack (playmaking) in the later set. And JT, Bowen and Payne have somebody good to feed the ball too (and perhaps Anthony Watts off the bench can help even more here).
Having Payne back, Gallant at the back and Bowen in the halves (and a possible Big Willie LOL)...Ohhhhh yeahhhhhh - GO COWBOYS!!!
