I understand the club told Daley he wasn't ready for Origin, and argued he wasn't physically strong enough to take part given only played 10 games in over 2 years
Ignored by Daley, I guess, and we have the result
I think it's only a matter of time before a Club seeks compensation for damages from the NSWRL or QRL when players get injured in Origin. I doubt any court in the land would say that NSWRL didnt fail in their duty of care for all 3 players (Hoppa and the Morris')
I can see court action happening when a NSW player who plays for a non-NSW based Club gets injured Or vice-versa (Qld player who plays for a NSW based Club).
Personally I am over the Origin period and all players having to miss games for Clubs before and after Origin games. The Club's and the Players need to take a united strategic stand for something to change.
Dyldam Parramatta Eels centre Will Hopoate will travel with the side to Melbourne tomorrow as the Blue and Gold prepare to take on the Storm at AAMI Park this Sunday.
After he sustained a shoulder injury in the NSW Blues? State of Origin win on Wednesday night, Hopoate has been receiving ongoing treatment and is anticipated to play on Sunday.

That's unexpected. I wonder what the injury is.

Eels media release.
Regarding the injury, sounds like it might be similar to what Hayne picked up vs Cowboys - ie. painful but can play with no risk of further damage

Proving that a duty of care has been failed is a bit more complex than that.
complex yes, but can be argued.
According to Delboy above the Club informed the NSWRL he wasnt physically ready to play. Would have been easy to prove if Hoppa's injury was a serious one that NSWRL were negligent in the duty of care for the player.
NSWRL only care about themselves, you would never see them near a judiiciary like with Watmough and Reynolds.
Thurston said on Sterlo last night that he wouldnt have to back up and play injured if the NRL structured State of Origin better.
It's only a matter of time before the Club and the Players finally take a stand.
But wouldnt the issue still be the fact the player agrees to play, and not do a lyon? It'll be the clubs taking a stand, not the players. They cant say squat when they agree to play whether they are ready or not.
Personally i think as long as the players agree to play nothing can be done in terms of suing.
It would be a different story if Hoppa, who was injured during the game and wanted to come off but was informed by the trainer or medical staff (a professional in a position to give such advice on injury) to carry on and hence worsens the injury. The Club would have to get the player on player on board with legal proceedings though id imagine. But most players arent sooks and just get on with the job.
http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/2014/06/24/injury-crisis-hits-resurgent-eelsResurgent Parramatta have been hit with an injury crisis, the NRL club confirming on Tuesday in-form forward Manu Ma'u will miss 10 weeks with an arm injury.
Ma'u is joined on the sidelines ahead of the Eels round 16 clash with Newcastle on Sunday by Lee Mossop, who is out indefinitely with a shoulder injury incurred against Melbourne on the weekend.
Star centre Will Hopoate is also out for at least two more weeks due to a shoulder complaint he picked up in NSW's State of Origin II win last Wednesday.
Winger Ken Sio is also out indefinitely with a shoulder injury.
Hooker Nathan Peats won't play again this season after having surgery on an ACL injury, while back-up hooker Kaysa Pritchard is out of action for an indefinite period with a shoulder injury.
Jacob Loko hasn't played a game this season due to a knee injury, while utility back Justin Hunt will miss four more weeks with a back injury.
Eels coach Brad Arthur has named Mitchell Allgood, Darcy Lussick, David Gower, Kelepi Tanginoa and Peni Terepo on an extended bench for the Knights match.
