Shame about the Edwards injury, but at least we're fairly well stocked in his position this year.

I don't mind brad Arthur as a coach but was a blunder by him selecting his strongest team. What a joke, two players out for the year! Dumb dumb dumb.

I actually agree. Pick two or three gun players and surround them with youngsters. Look at what the sharks achieved - they didn't even send Barba. We were also going to send Hoppa and he only withdrew due to injury. Even better bring a retired player back (ie Burt) like Souths did with King. No-one would care if they got injured.

I think it was a mistake. If it happens in a trial - so be it. At least the trial is performing a function. The nines are just a hit and giggle.

I'm with ya Elephant.

Players get injured at training, they get injured in trials, they get injured in round 1, they get injured in round 26.
Unless you know the future, it's pretty darn hard to stop guys getting injured.

Sure, Arthur could have kept some players out of the 9s (didn't he?), but they could just as easily get injured in the first trial game, and miss the season.

I actually think this is more a case of Arthur following the selection guide lines and other teams being very sneaky with it.

Look at souths for instance, they fielded a very strong squad and won it.

I actually think considering the prize money, more and more teams are going to be taking the 9s much more seriously than trials.

I did my ACL and was back running after 6 months, I went through the public system with only two physio sessions ( I did a program at home).

On the flipside, I did my knee and then blew it out again on a recovery program and didn't run for almost two years and couldn't play footy for four. Obviously Kenny has much better support than I did but my point is more that knee injuries, particularly ACL, are very tough to judge. My best mate ruptured his ACL and walked out of hospital the day after reco, was jogging after two months and running after three. You just can't tell how it'll go.

I'll go as far as saying KE career at parra is about 50/50 of beeing over IMO.
Its not like he has played a lot of first grade-Last year was his first year. And he is older then most debutants.
At parra he hadnt completely cemented a first grade spot as of yet for 2015 and i still think Watmough-Mau & Tepai would of been before him in the pecking order.
So he would be part of the 17 and next in line, IMO but competing with guys like Gower-Seph-Pauli-Nelson trying to get into first grade. When he comes back you might even have young Alioi in the frame as well.
Would be nice if the club put a statement on how long he would be out for-But i guess they dont know. If it is the season thou i just find it hard too see him forcing any of the starting three out and if the coach goes with a de gois on bench than it only leaves a spot for one more second rower in the team.

Thats it. Everyone is different. We just have to hope he has a speedy recovery.

Gower, Seph, Pauli and Nelson are missing at least one ingredient that Edwards has and BA seems to want... Mongrel. Something that isn't easily coached.

I like Kend edwrds-His last few games at the back end of the year he started too look good.
His overall season thou i would say he was just an average first grader. This could of been either his break out year or the year you say well he is just average.

True, but its not like there is a HUGE gap between any of them. I would have KE before them but its not like he is miles above, Gower i realy warmed to last year, Nelson i hear good things about-Pauli has the potential to be anything.
