Gutted for him... Would I be correct in assuming he won't be back until after the beginning of the 2018 season - maybe a month or so in to it?

If he gets a 6 month recovery timeline he will make it back for the final stretch of the preseason but given I that I think it is his second full rupture of the same ACL he could be out longer. Depends on how good of a healer he is as well.

Very disappointing for Gutherson, but in the grand scheme of things for this season anyway, Gutherson at fullback and French on the wing isn't that much considerably greater a contribution than French at fullback and RVarR/Hoffman on the wing. In fact, I think either of those two on the wing is going to help us make more ground coming out of our end (which is a real weakness at the moment) and no longer sees French as a target for opposition kickers.

Tough luck for Gutho, but I don't think the end of the world for us.

I reckon they will still just bomb to him in the middle

Arguably my favourite non Rooster. Even I'm gutted for him and you guys.

In b2b seasons at the Roosters JWH and Taukeiaho did their ACLs in rnds 24 & 25 respectively and both returned in rnd 8 the following year.

With a similar timeline Gutho could be back around rnd 4.

Josh Mansour returned from his in just over 7 months which was remarkable and if Gutho did the same he'd get back just in time for rnd 1.

It's absolutely tragic that our two players who have consistently gone above and beyond have had their seasons ended in the same way. Gutho constantly does all the one percenters well and by placing himself in that position to almost score that try ultimately led to this injury. Very cruel game.

What dampers it is that he and Kaysa have already had a monumental hard time with injury layoffs. If you read these forums Gutho, all the best to you. Us Parra fans will always have time for players that work their ass off for the club.

Wow gutted for him more then I am about our chances. Poor bugger has had a terrible run of injuries and was starting to show what he was capable of. Things were starting to look bright for him too on the injury front.

Keep you head up gutho, I'm sure you'll be back better than ever.

Same knee 2 x acls. He may never be back from that to a high level and that is being realistic. I hope he is but gee could be a career breaker.

I thought you were going to remind us again how quickly mansour recovered and that he's doing well.

But thankfully your post was a positive one. Smdh
