Interest in a new FF league for 2010 - with IDPs

1xDB, 1xDL, 1xLB?

That'll be the next thing we vote on mate but I would like to see a similar representation to the offensive side to make both sides of the ball equally valuable, maybe something like 2xDL 2xLB 2xDB 1xflex, something like that, but we'll come to it after we sought the league setup out first

And I made a mistake before, Monk is right, it's always been the top 6 go through regardless of divisions, so 3 may go from one division and 1 from another, I'm happy to go along with that model

i like 4 playoff teams. it should be difficult to make the playoffs.

the more keepers the better. at least 9.

yes, it gives more value to the wrs.

Don't know yet mate, will decide that once we vote on starting lineups, could be quite large though, around 30 I reckon

In hindsight, I've decide to change my vote to 9 keepers instead of 5, I base this on the fact that our rosters will be much larger than other leagues due to the IDP aspect, 9 keepers will just be enough to keep one player at each position

Okay well so far 9 people have responded, we are still waiting for 3 (Penny, dragonfire and electricityscape), results so far

Regardless of the remaining 3 votes, it has been decided that divisions will be 3x4 with 6 playoff teams, it will be a keeper league with 9 keepers, it will be a PPR league and divisions will be randomly generated.

The points of conjecture are the trade and transaction deadlines, looks like there will be no transaction deadline (I see no reason why there should be limits on picking up FAs) and there will be a trade deadline later in the season, yet to be decided.

Yeh, just looking at it now, for a ~30 player roster, 9 keepers should be right.

I assume that the starting sides will consist of

1xDEFENSIVEFLEX

thats 14 starters.

Right now i am just doing a mock with that exact starting lineup, and QB's get 6 points for TD throws, and it is PPR as well, The defensive players didnt get taken until the 6th round (Patrick Willis LB SF, Round 6 pick 1), so i think we may have to change the Defensive scoring to make Defensive players more Valuable.

6 Playoff teams doesnt mean top 2 in each division,

What Ab suggested was that the 6 top team make the playoffs, and seeds #1 and #2 get a first round bye.

He said 2 from each division.

I don't really see the issue here, particularly in a keeper league where owners won't want to compromise their rosters for next season. Why would an owner in the playoffs trade one of their stars? Regardless I'm happy to implement an end of season trade deadline if people wish, no problem with that...

I run many leagues and have had issues in the past with people trading a keeper quality player to get 2 or 3 of the good players from a weak team to help them win the championship.

If it's say 5 keepers, then it's more then likely the best teams in the league will have more then 5 players worth keeping, so why wouldn't they trade one of them for 2 or 3 very good players from a weak team which in turn gives them a huge advantage in the playoffs.

4 DTs, 2 DEs, 3 LBs, 2 corners and 2 safeties is most life like. Makes the league deeper also.

Exactly, i always like the leagues to be life like as possible. Only 12 teams out of 32 teams make the playoffs, i don't feel half the league making the playoffs is a great thing to have.

3 division winners and 1 wildcard is what i always go with in my 12 team leagues. This means the playoffs are only 2 weeks long and runs in week 15 and 16 and the season can be 14 weeks long.
