Don't under estimate Daniel Wagon.. I am just saying Mick Witt's time WILL come,
you can't hurry it.. Don't you think the coaching staff know his capabilities????
It's all about opportunities... Adam Dykes was signed in 2001 to play the way he is playing now. That's bad luck for Mick, but that's what depth and pressure is all about. If Parra didn't have such a high regard for Mick Witt they WOULD NOT have signed him for FOUR years.
By the way,I don't mind you having a go at me. I have supported Parramatta through thick and thin for 45 years. Can vividly remember the GOOD days and the BAD. Have gained a lot of enjoyment out of following Parra all that time.
I think I can judge a good player and a bad player...Been there, done that.

He has signed for FOUR years. What's he gonna do? A Jamier and go pulling beer at Toowoomba Bowlo for a living. Let the kids grow up Stop pushing them. Its like kids about 17, can't wait to get into a pub to start drinking.. It all comes around soon enough. If he performs in second grade CONSISTENTLY he'll get his chance. If he vcan't hack it in reserve grade, he certainly won't make it in firsts.

and where parrapete did i demand he get a firstgrade spot?

i only mentioned being worried about how content he is at parra, and although i would burst to see him back in first grade, right now im content with just having him in a parra jersey!

i totally understand parra's concerns with witty's injuries, but i would have loved to have seen him and his brother play together in first grade.
They may have been able to read each other well and have a go at leading the team around the field, but it wasnt to be, and steves happy in newcastle...all the best to him!

Where did I say you did??? Sorry no can follow your train of thought. Does everyone have to be in first grade? and if they are not does that mean they have the shits and want OUT
Would Mick Witt be in first grade if he was playing at Roosters (Finch/Fittler), Broncos (Seymour/Lockyer), Storm(Orford/Hill), Bulldogs(Sherwin/Thurston), St George (Barrett/Head) Auckland (Jones/Leulali), Raiders (McClinden/Croker).
How does he rate better than Dykes/Wagon?
His toime will come if he is MENTALLY tough enough to tough it out. If not stiff cheddar...he wouldn't be a loss. There is no substitute for Hard Work. The harder he works on his game, the luckier he'll get, and closer to a FIRST grade spot.
He was good in 2003. That was then, This is NOW...

There were rumours earlier in the year that mick was not happy where he was, and after seeing him at a couple of Premier League games earlier this year, i tended to agree. all i was saying to WC was that i would feel better if i had spoken to him, and been able to gage for myself whether he was happy or not

noone apart from me and a couple of others have shown concern for a players happiness in his club so im not suprised you can't follow my train of thought. Mick has worked hard, and is tough, it is just nlucky Dyksey is in such good form. I don't expect witty to have a firstgrade spot as even tho dyksey bugs me, noone can deny he is playing good footy these days.

he WAS good in 2003, i just hope we don't see his future good form in FIRST DIVISION however knowing my luck he will leave one day, so right now i am ecstatic to have him in BLUE and GOLD and will treasure the time we get to say he's a parra boy. Just like i treasure the time we had one of the best centres in the game in blue and gold.

You mean the coach should put them all in first grade to keep them happy????
The best centres in blue and gold...do you mean Bill Roney, Ron Boden, Barry Rushworth, Mick Cronin or Steve Ella... men who knew the value of a contract.. or some other sook who is content to let everyone down.? :?: :?: :?: :?:

MOST of you have all got the sh!ts with him because he cares for his girlfriend and wanted to make sure she was fine then he probably realised there are more important things in life then NRL...give him a break he's gone nothing we can do about it

The bottom line is this .... Steve WITT SHOULD have been given a chance to play first grade in the 5 years he was there. Just like Casey McGuire should have.

In that time it wasnt like Parra had a gun half back like a Andrew Johns keeping him out of 1st grade.

What has happened is that for some unknown reason BS didnt rate him and said bugger it hes not playing 1st grade ever. Parra could have had 50 players injured last year and BS would have played the ball boy rather than Steve Witt.

For those who say that sometimes his form let him down in Premier league .. how would you perform if you knew that no matter how you played there was no chance of getting a run .... come on .. no wonder his committment flagged sometimes. You wonder what some of the premier league players would be doing at the moment.... You know you would be carrying BSs luggage - whenever you see BS you would be saying .. looking good smithy .. love your work .. then maybe you might get a look in. Only problem is if you are a centre you would probably be selected in the second row.

Sorry guys but Im pissed off. We have such wonderful talent at the club and have had for a couple of years. One just wonders what we could have achieved. Yeah I am having a go at the Super coach !!!

No matter how much I love the eels I hope Steve has a wonderful career with the Knights and reaches his full potential - whatever that is.

Did well against the Raiders. Missed a sitter field goal attempt. Dropped the last pass of the match.
A reserve grader at best..

Last year (im pretty sure this happened)
Smith actually told Witt:
"Witt would never get a go while Smith was coach"
so after last year it was obvious that, that was true
I wish him well and when we play Newcastle next I hope he has a good game (but with parra winning of course) :)

So Brian Smith stood face to face with Steve and said "Witt would never get a go while Smith was coach" did he! I don't see how Brian Smith, a person with a reasonable command of the English language would have said that sentance to Steve like that.

Call me crazy but i find that a shade hard to fathem...

i spoke to steve witt in a pub in parra late last year after he had signed with the knights and he told me that smith said"as long as dykes is at the club you wont get a shot"....and that was said early on in 2003 ...after his good form in the trials and the 7's...the guy was nearly in tears......he told me he had no choice....the guy realy wanted to stay at the eels.

Now if what Steve Witt was saying was actually true I think that is a very sad indictment on Brian Smith as a coach - and as a person.

Funny thing is that most Parra fns on the net last year were clling for Steve Witt to get run in 1st grade. How times change!

God luck to him. He did his time with Parra, and got a better opportunity elsewhere. Problem????
