Hard decision to make. I will be very suprised if Grothe is still with us next year which will be a massive loss to the side. He was up there with our best player on grand final day. Just eats up the metres.

If I had to pick today Inu would miss out but that is if Tahu is injury free which is almost an impossibility.

I think that is just trying to accommodate a player like Reddy into our backline, as distinct from naming our best backline

he is not the play maker that KK is and would weaken our backline

You know what I find funny about Inu?

The 2/3 weeks leading up to the Grand Final he wasn't in the team and some Reddy lookalike replaced him.....skinny guy, good control, no-name player.
I couldn't even name the guy.

So, why did you replace him and bring Inu back in?
This other guy was going great guns and even cemented the last try against St. George.

Inu, for me, isn't even a good player.

You know what else occured to me the other day.........your GF against MLB was very similar to the 2001 GF.

You didn't score a point in the first half yet came home like steam trains in the second half.
Against Newcastle you were only down by 6 with only 50 seconds to go.
And against MLB you got 6 behind and were on the attack again.
Very strange.

I won't mention that Cowboy semi when you forgot that the idea of League is to score points to win a game.

Manly will win next years GF.

And the Washington Redskins will win the super bowl this year.

Next year will be either make or break for Inu.
He simply must show some form or he will be on his way.
He is simply taking up too much of the cap compared to what he is producing.

Rugby league is about defence, as much as it is about offence.

Inu is one of our best defensive backs. And we are beginning to see his attacking flare return as well.

He WILL be teamed up with Tahu next year, and the left side will be an awesome well oiled machine, free from defensive lapses we have been seeing on the right side (ala Guru).

Redskins?!?!
The mighty Packers will make a late charge similar to the Giants 2 years ago.

I would be keeping Inu in the centres and keep the partnership with Burt, and have Tahu and Guru on the other side. With Reddy I would look at turning him into a ball playing lock.

The thing is with that is, what do you do with Feleti, Shack, Hindy and Benny (all 80 min players).

The problem is being shifted from the backs to the forwards and he would be a trainee in the forwards.

Originally on hearing Tahu's signing I felt Grothe might be the one to miss out... but the way each of them has played over the past month or two, Grothe played his heart out and showed his importance to the side, whereas Inu seems more "replaceable" without it really changing the structure of the side.

So if Tahu trains well, is fit, and performs in the trials, then I'd assume he'd take Inu's spot to start the season.

But like others I keep reading about Grothe and his manager seeking other deals to leave his contract early, and wondering if we can keep everyone in our backline under the cap anyway?

Maybe the choice for DA will be made for him if Grothe attracts an offer from outside the NRL... but we'll be a weaker side for his absence imo.

Weaker in some ways; possibly stronger in others.

In bold is what I agree with and IMO the rest is rubbish.
I think Inu will start in the centres on the left and Tahu on the right with one of Grothe, Reddy or Burt missing out. Burt I think has combined well with Inu and Hayne on the left flank, Reddy has been very consistant and is great under the high ball and Grothe is great for the go forwards. I would say Burt is more replace IMO but has been to good to leave out. I guess I'm just glad DA has the make the decisions not me.

An important note is that DA has moved Reddy (rather than INU) to the wing on occations when Burt or Grothe have gone down mid match. After Inu was dropped he was brought back in and named on the wing but he played the match in the centres and Reddy pushed out to the wing. These are things that make me think Inu will stay in the centres.

Why would Burt be more replaceable, when he is our goal-kicker, arguably our most creative back (he doesn't just play as a winger), and is in career-best form? Also has consistently performed (and got better and better) over the last three years. And is well-respected by the other players and is part of the leadership group. Why is he more replaceable?
I reckon Anderson might experiment with Tahu at five-eight, though. Mortimer at half, Tahu at five-eight. That way, the most 'replaceable' back - Krisnan Inu - can keep his place.
