Lol you for real? You do realise coaches make mistakes? Last year when Tim Sheens picked Matt Utai as a bench player and would bring him on the 70th minute of games, if you're are a Tigers fan you accept that because he is the coach and knows more about League and the Tigers? Coaches make mistakes, and this is quite obvisouly one. Because it has so far negatively affected our performance on the field.

Of course coaches make mistakes.

Performance-wise, I agree not selecting Inu is a mistake.

But he's not being selected for a reason, just as he was with Cleary - and I am happy to admit my lack of understanding of the internal workings of the club, and trust that there is a valid reason for the situation - pretty simple really!

That logic might work if this were a simple 1+1=2 type equation, but it's not. There's a ton of other factors involved (and also, i'd hope that BluesClues would have the authoritative say on team selection, and not have to run it past the board every week ;-)). Plus, coaches are human and make errors and have favorites, etc.

And of course, 'valid' comes down to interpretation, too. For one person, Inu being left out because he doesn't train as hard as the others might be a valid reason, but for someone else it might not be.

Imagine if Babe Ruth had been dropped by the Yankees because he had a tendency to stuff his face with hot dogs (sometimes 6 or 7, and that's full American hot dog, bun and all) right before a game, and couldn't give a damn about nutrition. Inu probably doesn't have Babe Ruth talent (plus, two completely different sports in two completely different eras), but if it's only that he doesn't train as hard as the rest of the boys, then that's not a valid reason in my books. He doesn't look like he avoids training--there are other players in the squad who look like they might avoid training a wee bit, but still get to play FG week in, week out.

I think Usain Boult doesn't train as hard as most of the other sprinters out there, either...

Maybe when BluesClues (if we miss the 8 this season i might change that to NoBluesClues) showed up first day on the job Inu thought it'd be funny to give him a wedgie...

ETA: Btw, i do like what you did there, hitman. Some fine extrapolation!

I really like this Blues(No)Clue(s) concept!!

Valid IS open to interpretation, you are correct. I am thinking the Warriors organisation as a whole has a valid enough reason for Inu to not be playing.

My validity argument is simply based on the Warriors being an organisation, not 1 man (Bluey).

We have powerful, hard-nosed owners who would lose the plot if they thought their coach was undermining the team with brainless selection maneuvers.

Do you think Watson and Glenn know and are comfortable with the reason Inu isn't being picked? I sure do. Bluey wouldn't want to piss those guys off, would he?

The club obviously has strict rules regarding selection, and Inu is obviously breaking one or more of those, therefore he does not play.

Haha yeah I'm a (somewhat lazy) engineer; extrapolation is how I roll.

I've pretty much accepted this:

-none of us know more about league than the Warriors staff: FACT
-the Warriors staff want to win games, and will select accordingly: FACT
-we're a bunch of grumpy moffos: FACT
-there's obviously a valid reason for Inu not being selected: FACT

...right now, that's good enough for me

I'm with you brother...you gotta let the guy have a fair go to run things his way. I've liked more of what I've seen so far than not...are we saying Bluey can't coach because he won't work with one player that other coaches- and more than one- have an issue with?
And the guy is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. He was on radio sport to explain his view. Personally, I disagreed, and I still feel there is way more to it than what was said. But Inu is not there and that's that. Move on and Go the Warriors! It will either prove to be a good move or bad one. And he deserves more than three games before being judged on it.

*facepalm*

At least Cleary hinted there were other issues contributing to his non-selection. Bluey is telling outright lies.

So you prefer a cryptic statement like 'He know what he's done' that Cleary used, to the statement Bluey used this morning that I'm guessing you don't believe.
Personally I don't accept that either- he should just say he prefers Jro to Inu and leave it at that- But I'm gobsmacked that Cleary is now remembered as the golden boy who did no wrong. We had the same sort of issues during his reign- players out of position, Inus non selection (although I do remember a 'FO Inu' subject at one stage during some poor form), bad slumps and no attack gameplan...
The difference is, Cleary got more than three games before the boot went in.

Lol, need to drag it out...!

Seriously, I'm playing Devils Advocate here, I like Inu, prefer him in our centres, and would at the very least have him on the bench to cover wing/FB & center. Despite Bluey on the radio trying to smooth things over he just made them worse...and I don't know if it is more worrying to think he's lying, or that he truely believed Jro is the better option!
But- it's three games in and I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt that the team is going to improve- and I much prefer the style to the cleary style.

One thing is for sure, the centers need utter blinders or this will not go away anytime soon...

I pick we'll finish the regular season 3rd. Unless we lose to the Tits this week, then i reckon we'll finish 13th. ;-)

ETA: ftr, i think we look much better now than at this stage last season. We actually have attack.

Funny, isn't it?
Two NRL clubs with Kiwi coaches, Parra & the Warriors, both have fans up-in-arms about non-selection of favourite players?

Burt is the Eels' answer to El Masri. They're only keeping them on ice for the goal kicking, that's about it.

Ok I have the good stuff. Reliable source says not only is Inu slack with training and nutrition but he's a bad influence on others like bringing chocolate and junk food to training and before games and handing it out.
