Is Bennett past it?

Not sure about that. I am sure the Dragons would be only to happy to swap coaches.

How long have you been over there mate? Long term job or something?

Things looked to be going pretty nicely just a few weeks ago.

What's changed at the knights ?

I can't say that there has been a single game this year where I was happy with our performance. As others pointed out early in the year when we were trouncing teams, it was always against teams playing the worst football imaginable. A side in form would have won by twice what we were.

Bennett's negative approach to football is a bigger problem with the game than the 'cannonball tackles' he campaigns against.

This.

The Knights performances the past 5-6 weeks are no different to the first 8 weeks. (bar the Dogs game). It's just that they aren't playing teams who are inexplicably shooting themselves in the foot by playing their worst games of the season.

Yeah, teaching English over here. Getting harder and harder to make the effort to tune in when this is what I get to watch for two hours.

The injuries at our club are no worse than any other club. Gidley is barely even a loss given the football he's been playing. The only reason for our bad play is negative tactics. The insistence on kicking for goal every time we can, the one out football, and the stifling of the attacking players we do have.

Oh, and Chris f**king Houstin and Travis 'merkin' Waddell.

Yeah your hooking play is definitely a major reason. Needless to say it's such a crucial position and when you're getting absolute puss out of your dummy half it can affect the whole team.

To me the Knights strength is clearly the backline. So they should let loose a bit more in attack. That doesn't mean going wide before going forward; but geez give guys like Gagai, Naqaima, McManus, Boyd and Uate more ball!

I'm over Wayne's "style" of football. It just doesn't work for our club.

He's trying to fit what he did at St George into Newcastle (even buying the same players).

He has more than one style though of course. Just look at the attacking football Brisbane teams of the past used to play.

Whenever a team opts for a penalty kick outside of putting a game beyond doubt they deserve to lose.

Key word being used to, hasn't been like that in over a decade.

Is still remember the "how many premierships will we win" thread in the Knights forum when Bennett was signed

And to be honest I think that's why the Knights haven't been successful. Just like some of their fans, they thought it would just happen under Bennett.

The Dragons were ready to win a premiership. They had the core of a team with potential and just needed Bennett to instil some belief and get them over the line.

It's really frustrating to see his coaching doing absolutely nothing with the roster we have while Stoney had a considerably poorer one and we still managed to play consistently and managed to beat teams we were suppose to beat.

Oh the wonders he could do with this current crop bar Darius.

Here's the thing, I rate the talent in the current Knights' squad as one of the best mixes we have had in a long time. There is no excuse for them playing the way they are except that they are being coached to play that way.

I think this statement totally undermines Bennett's achievements at St.George. They had great teams in the 2000's yes and they would always shoot themselves in the foot somehow. Bennett changed their tactics as well as employed the self belief and got them to play tougher.

This is true. Nobody seems to remember that Bennett was brought here for an entirely different reason to why was was brought to the Dragons. They had a great roster but needed some coaching to get them over the line for a title. He was brought here to turn us into a more successful football team. We're only just starting to get a decent roster.

And to be honest the "how many premierships will we win" thread was created by one idiot. Most Knights fans realised it was going to take a very very long time to fix our shit.

We've had a lot of shit go against us recently and we haven't responded to it well at all.

Not sure how it undermines his achievements. What you said is basically what I was saying.
