Im positive Ivan and his mate are destroying this club.

Gus wasnt perfect. Far from it. But our club was atleast in the hands of someone who cared before.
Mate I’m prepared to give Ivan some time, most experts told him he was getting a Porsche but I think he’s been handed the keys to a VW
There has been issues for a while now even with Griffin that everyone at the club has brushed aside, How else can you explain our starts the last few years, different players wanting out, the sex tapes, the Cartwright drama a few years ago, the Moylan issues etc, I’m over the coach being blamed it’s the players who are letting us down, there attitude in defence in particular annoys me, to me once you put on the jersey you play not for yourself but for your team, your community, your supporters

Bob I totally agree.

The sex tapes (I believe) are a major sympton of what's been going on for a good number of years. I'm not about to portion blame to the coaching staffs for this, (unless of course they are actually in the tapes)

The players must take this on the chin, (the ones involved) they must own up to their own part in the nasty horrible mess.

What a dreadful idea to even think that fliming yourself and others having sex and then sharing with others was the appropriate thing to do beggers belief.

A bandaid can't be used either. I believe it's been attempted before in the 'boys will be boys' type of thing. (which is so very wrong) These players are adults it's high time they began acting like them.

My wife totally agrees with your sentiments, they want to be role models but in truth they are being paid to play a game, my role models are the men and women that fight and die for our country, firefighters, police who keep us safe

Maybe as a woman I see life differently. These players are looked up to when they pull on the team and communities jersey. Sadly these are facts of life for many kids looking round for something or someone to believe in.

Like you I believe role models come from anywhere but footy players. (i've been round far too long)

I believe strongly though that for far too long players poor behaviour has been excused. Sadly the redemption story holds far too much sway in footy circles.

In saying that I do understand that 'ladies' do throw themselves at players, In fact I've witnessed it. Yep they are persistant too.

My over riding thought though is that players themselves are responsible for their actions and at times poor behaviour on and off the field.

They are adults, and I'm over others covering for there immature behaviours.

Ivan's 'plan' will probably be similar to that naive idiot who thought he could pass off fast food as home cooking and calling it steamed hams.

Some good points Bob. It isn't like the place was full of angels before Ivan showed up...

That said there is nothing to show Ivan has any idea to fix it

I listened to that interview, I thought it was terrible. Ivan’s worked out there are real issues here? I knew that weeks ago. What are issues? He literally refuses to talk about anything. At this point we are owed answers they are under performing massively.

There is a distsinct lack of leadership at the club and it’s getting worse each week.

Thing is though, with his son in the squad, Cleary would have been well aware of any problems in the club before he rejoined, so he can't act all surprised now after signing that fat contract. Unless...

(a) The issues only cropped up after he arrived, or
(b) Nathan is at the center of the issues and kept them from Ivan.

Choose an option. They all suck.

Yeah, it’s disrespectful to fans - he should come clean & inform the fans. It’s coming across as arrogant.

I just read the Paul Kent attack on IC. I don't see why he owes us or the media anything. They could be personal issues with a few members and he doesn't want to bring them into the limelight.
A few of the boys could have a bit of a party addiction and he is working on it. You never know the true story.
Sure we are in the dark but if that means keeping the mental health of a few young kids in check then so be it.

Well the issues had to exist before Hook was sacked. Our biggest scandal with the sex tapes happened last year. They leaked this year... but the videos were made while Hook was still here. Although May was in reserve grade at thetime I think.

It is some of the basic questions he isn't answering that is frustrating.

A journo asked on his thoughts on RCG and Mansour's return, which he refused to answer.

Brad Arthur for example explains his thinking about moving Ferguson into the centres in his presser yesterday.

Tbf, Nathan might not have been willing to share some of the more lurid details.

"Hey son. How was work today?"
"Great dad! Me and the boys went out for a bun after clock off. Dallin wasn't keen but he's such a square. Check out the video! Don't worry, already sent it to the dudes who couldn't make it."

That is it for me. simply saying they needed to work on things. Played and trained well so are back in. Doesn't give away anything to the opposition and is actual answers

Yep..you're bang on. Another perhaps more instructive ( for Ivan) example was Melbourne with Munster awhile back when he was going through his being a goose phase...not only did Bellamy and the Big 3 tell him straight but they all told it straight in every interview...future superstar, who cares...get the message or take your attitude and go somewhere else.
Ivan is just fuelling the journo fire as he did the way he chose to handle things at the tigers when he had the journos camped there. ..you would think he would have learned from that but he's handling this exactly the same way so he should fairly expect whatever cynicism snd criticism comes his way. Bellamy and Maquire answer hard questions asked respectfully, succinctly and respectfully.
Ivan..
We dont talk about selection
We dont talk about player movements
We dont talk about problems
And now add to the list...we don't talk about form as it hasnt mattered for a long time.
Journos are one thing but the same criticisms from the Panther old boys in the media is harder to deflect.
