Is Foran at 6 a possibility next season ?

Just heard on Fox, Keiran Foran has sorted out custody issue with his partner which requires him to live in Sydney.

If we fail to sign Widdop, should we attempt to sign this guy ?

We know he is an excellent footballer when his personal life is stable.

Very durable and tough competitor.

The club has taken in a number of players who had serious personal problems.

Imagine the following spine:

Duges/Tedesco
Widdop/Foran
Hunt
McInnes

Foran would be a big YES from me. Foran has an very good influence on the paddock. I would love to see us with a halves pairing or Hunt at 7 and Foran at 6. I actually think Foran is a great halfback.

In saying that I would take even money that Foran ends up at Canterbury next year.

Funny how a few months and form changes ppl thoughts most here before the season started wanted fresh blood, Jai Field at number 6 and Dufty at 1.
They say be careful for what you wish for.
We may find ourselves cheering for Widdop and Dugan for the last time this year.
So sad I believe, 5 years of shit and finally we have something looking good and then we have NRL mafia come along and ruin it again

The way I see it Mcrone played most of last year in reggies, and has got the job done thus far, if we lose Widdop and/or Dugan then an opportunity opens up, which at first might not mean instant success but perhaps in the long run may pay dividends, the Cowboys coach made comments in these terms after having to blood a few youngsters n the weekend....

By next year some may well be ready, Field, Hutch, Dufty who from reports are off the pace but they have time as will others I'm sure
Why risk the chance to win a premiership. These chances only come around when we can field a first grade squad capable of matching it with the rich clubs. Dugan and Widdop are essential to us having a squad that is competitive. We can lose Packer and some juniors but we need a good experienced fullback, five-eighth and centre to match it with the big guys. Without TPA our club has an up hill battle to remain competitive.

So get with the program and ensure the Dragons have access to TPA.

A few months ago Millward was pronouncing our juniors would be ready for first grade. Now we all can see for ourselves that these young guns are not ready and may never be ready. We also have found out that the leadership group devised an alternative style of play which they could buy into and low and behold it works and is successful.

If Millward's future plan was to replace our marquee players with untested juniors then it shows us how unsuitable he is for the job. He is just another old boy sucking the dollars from our Club.

Geez , you really have something against Millward .Did he beat you up in the playground when you were kids ?

It's all about managing the cap and the only way to offset "marque " signings is to combine it with value for money juniors and journeyman looking for opportunities.

No, I'm just sick and tired of the old boy network at the Club. It seems they all are there to support each other with hand out stretched for a wad of cash. Bring on the WIN buy in and maybe then we will get people who know what to do.

We've finally got a forward pack that is matching it with the big guns, Packer, Vaughan, and Leeson are getting us the go forward, which is finally allowing Widdop room the create. . Not saying Widdop hasn't been great but if he is offered big $ and we can't retain him or Dugan then IMO we have options, but I think it's harder to find a Packer type forward, as Mose and Kerr seem off pace and Lielua, Host, Sele and co. Wouldn't at this point do the same job..and MORE TO THE POINT is that Packer would not be chased for the same amount Duges or Widdop would be atleast that how I see it anyway

I would be signing Packer before Widdop and Dugan.

Yesterday I also mentioned that Packer needed to be resigned along with Widdop and last on the list was Josh Dugan .

However looking over the posts today I see that I was not alone , in regards to Packer .
What has now changed is that we simply may not be able to afford all three players , which is a shame .

That being the case the best option may be ( as Belta has suggested ) to resign young Russell Packer first , then throw the kitchen sink at either Widdop or Dugan - whichever of the two that shall be of the most benefit to our team , in securing a premiership .

Tough choice , but only if the club still has the time to decide ?

Never ....... the guy is poison and will come and go as he pleases.
He epitomises everything we don't want.
We finally have some sort of stability, let's not spoil it.

I agree with OKB.
We have a miz of experience and youth and a real presence about of pack.
Keep Widdop / Duges, re-sign Packer, and let our juniors slowly blend into 1st graders.
Have no idea on the legality or credibility of Keirans issues, but he seems some time away from being able to
focus on footy. 2 good games after such a break is no guide.
Our team looks content and playing for each other.
