Is Idris ready for Origin?

Do you think Jamal Idris is ready for Origin footy?

Just with these comparisons to Idris and Inglis, are we talking Greg Inglis 2009 or GI 2010? I (like many) do not doubt GI is still a great player, but his form in 2010 has some what dropped off the 2009 form he had. I also think he's gained a little...

Have you watched his last few games (vs Cowboys, NZ and Broncos)? He dominated against New Zealand, and looked very strong in the other matches (not so much against Broncos) I'm just hoping he gets back to his standard Origin form in Game 1.

He got tackled by Lance Hohaia on Friday night... where as 2008/2009 GI would've ran right over the top of him (and yes I am aware he fended off 3 players before that).

Without looking at the draw but knowing Ricky Stuart... The Eels and Dogs probably play the Sharks during the Origin period

I'd invite you to review the thread again and show where he's been compared to Inglis.

Not a single person has suggested he is a better player than him, merely that in one individual performance in 2009, Idris had his opposites' number on more than one occasion. As much as I dislike Inglis, I and most others here know he's a far better player than Idris at this point in time.

Surely you realise Inglis is completely another beast in Origin games right?

Did you even read anything I said? Is there anywhere I suggested he wasn't?

You people really need to quit reading between lines that aren't there...

There's no need to rush Jamal into the Blues side. Although I'd pick him before Chris Lawrence, I think I'd go with any of Cooper, Lyon or Morris first.

Morris and, I hate to say it, but Lyon. He's been playing pretty good this year.

Cooper's try tonight summed up Idris for me. Likely to rush up and make a stupid dumb decision in trying to put a nothing hit on, only to open up yards of space for an easy try. Brain explosions like this will get found out in Origin footy, and this is why he's simply not ready. (If he ever will be good enough)

Yeah, I agree. I mean, I would expect a kid in his second year of football to be perfect, have improved every facet of his game by 100% of else he will never, ever be good enough or improve.....

No Cooper gave him a bath last night out there on the right edge and I think jamal still has big sloppy bitch tits so he wouldn't really fit in with a SOO squad, maybe a Les Girls cabaret might be more suitable at this stage.

WobblyKnob, still sprouting his usual turdish posts.

saint_marto, you imply an enormously talented kid in his second year of first grade may not ever improve to the level of Origin yet I'm the stupid one? For the record, I don't think Idris is ready and I've said that before.

(You like to end things in brackets, so I'll do the same.)

Meh. Take out his shoulder charge and his pretty week defensively.

Not to mention getting out leaped by Creagh

Out jumped? Idris was back expecting a bomb, he had to turn, run in field and still almost got there. Do you honestly think if Creagh and Idris were up against one another in a genuine contest for a high kick that Idris wouldn't out leap him? Please..
