The only sports I follow closely are rugby league and cricket.

I used to like watching union, back in the 80's and early 90's. I don't think I have watched a game in full since about 1998. Not enough running with the ball. I saw maybe half of the world cup final back in 2003 but didn't see anything to bring me back to the sport. I've never seen a game live.

I've seen 1 game of AFL live in my life, at the MCG. That was enough for me. If I ever see it on tv, I just shake my head wondering how people can like that mess.

With soccer, the quality of the A-league isn't good enough to bother with, and I don't see the point of watching the English premier league to follow teams from places I've never been, playing a sport which is boring for 90+% of the time. I played it as a kid, which was fun, but watching it is a real bore. I will cheer for Australia in the soccer, even if I won't watch a full game. The only thing I like about it is the way they have their international competitions (world cup, asian cup) set up. I like how they have the qualifiers going on for a couple years to get to the big tournament, and I like how they have small pools of 4 or so at each stage, so most games are important for getting through to the next round.

Complete sports whore. Almost anything will grab my attention, primarily NRL, EPL and NFL.

AFL and baseball however compete for their ability to sh*t me to tears the fastest. Colossal waste of athletic endeavour.

A-League just feels like watching the Toyota Cup. It's football, but I'd prefer to watch the best. Wouldn't mind a crosscode alignment though, can't hurt.

Oh, and I will watch some American sports if I see them on TV. I don't really have a team to follow in any of them though.

I didn't bother reading through the rest of the thread but anybody who endorses the EPL as a legitimate competition is a douchebag. Whoever has the money wins. What is the point of going for say Bolton? They raise a good player, can't afford to keep him and then thats it. As Doug Stanhope puts it, "Have some character and pick the underdog. Going for these rich teams is like going to the casino and cheering for the house." He is right. f**k the EPL.

But to specifically answer this thread. A-League. No. Nothing will change. You can follow whatever sport you want, but the signing of Kewell means nothing.
Can't argue with that!

I follow NRL seriously, but would also consider myself a Union fan (though to a lesser extent). I don't mind soccer though don't really follow it outside the WC or big finals matches. I've recently moved to Melbourne and try to watch AFL occasionally to see what everyone here is so nuts about but I just don't get it. Apart from the odd spectacular mark I don't see any great skill or toughness on evidence the constant fumbling and jersey grabbing shits me to tears. They're fit though. I'll give them that.

Team-sports; I only watch rugby league.

Even "elite" level union bores me to death, and soccer is just ridiculous apart from the goal-scoring highlights.

I don't understand how someone can watch rugby league, the god of all contact sports, and still have the same level of appreciation for union or afl - they really are inferior spectacles.

Ice hockey and nfl are worth a watch every now and then.

I occasionally watch boxing and weight-lifting events.

League is the only sport I really follow.

I will watch almost any sport when I have nothing better to do though.

As per my signature, I'm a sport whore. AFL and NRL tie for first (if there's a clash and the Bombers and Storm are both playing at the same time I usually go see whoever is more likely to win, read into that what you will), followed by Union and A-League.

NRL, A-League and EPL.

Yes, the A-League can be absolutely dire at times, but it can also be *very* entertaining. Just look at last season's grand final.

Getting completely shitfaced while chanting and/or bagging off the opposition is fun, and can certainly help ease the pain of having to watch poor Football.

NRL (Penrith, NSW Blues, Australia) - The true code

Soccer (Socceroos, Sydney FC, Liverpool, Leeds) - I watch all internationals but dont watch many EPL/CSHIP games. Watch the occasional Sydney FC match.

Cricket (Australia) - Watch when I can, love one day and test match

ESL (Leeds) - The true code, just smaller. Dont watch just monitor scores

Rugby - passing interest with Tahs but thats it. Will probably just keep an ear out for the RWC scores but wont watch any games.

That is all

I support three teams:
Raiders, Blues and Kangaroos.
I never watch AFL or A League. Rarely, I'll watch a Premier League match.
I usually record a Super League match and watch it during the week.
I usally watch the Friday 5.30pm Union match only because its on the TV at my local. I usually get into the NFL once the Rugby League internationals finish in November,
