Robina is a nice stadium in a terrible area … try and get there on public transport from Surfers
gold Coast/queensland/south Queensland sharks could work.Gold Coast Sharks would be a good merge. Sharks need a Stadium up to Nrl standard. Titans is a shit moniker, you could call them the S E Queensland Sharks playing out off Robina.
I'm a Producer at a Brand Agency and topics like these actually excite me...
I would hate to cede the GC to AFL, even if it meant relocation to Ipswich. I see them as Queensland's Wests Tigers, with the club struggling to be an attractive destination for promising talent, even if said players grow up in that catchment.
I think the branding needs a lot of work, and not necessarily in the form of a new name. The club lacks any sort of personality, and I would argue is the most anonymous of the NRL teams. There's no great history to fall back on (Dragons, Roosters, Rabbitohs, Broncos), no rabid fanbase, even if they're in hibernation due to lack of success (Dogs, Wahs, Knights, Parra) and don't represent any particular class of fan or proud area (Raiders, Roosters, Cowboys). There's nothing to love, and there's nothing to hate - they just exist.
Team colours and logo alone would go a fair way in giving them a unique identity which I would argue they lack. The sky blue/sand theme is as anonymous as the generic and boring AI generated logo they currently use. The "Titans" mascot is no doubt a cool name, but feels soulless with how it's presented.
Overall I'd argue the club needs to shift direction in a few ways:
1. Recruitment needs an overhaul.
Utilise their juniors and stop the flow of promising young talent being snapped up by other teams (Melbourne Storm, Brisbane/Phins).
2. New coach.
A Ricky Stuart, Wayne Bennett-esque siege mentality coach with the "us against them" narrative. They need an edge here as much as everything else.
2. New strip, colours and logo.
Thinking about it for 5 seconds, I would go with branding similar to that of the LV Raiders in the NFL. Black, silver and white. Something radically different to the rest of the league and unique. Give them an edgy, simplified Spartan helmet logo and drop the wordmark like the Dolphins, Rabbitohs and Panthers. Make the jerseys and apparel cool to wear, even when the team isn't riding high on the ladder.
Just a thought.. and a way to kill time in the office.
Is there any reason legally why a Gold Coast RL team couldn’t revert back to the seagulls name and colours?
Better name, better colours and better mascot.Would that be better ? They were pretty crap when they had that name as well
Better name, better colours and better mascot.
For such a tourist destination they were really dumb for not building it close to the tourist area.Robina is a nice stadium in a terrible area … try and get there on public transport from Surfers

That a long way of saying, keep the titans name, update the logo and bring back the Giants jersey.I'm a Producer at a Brand Agency and topics like these actually excite me...

Yay, you found a new thing you know nothing about to be wrong on .For such a tourist destination they were really dumb for not building it close to the tourist area.
Haha Sharks in the pretend club that the developers said will gift them 300 million and got Jack Shit. Club gonsi probably be a Kmart. or Big W..Sharks will never relocate whilst member owned. They would need to go broke. Get bailed out by private owners who then sell/move it.
Privately owned Teams are far more vulnerable to the Owners deciding to move.
Think Manly is most likely as the only privately owned Sydney Team.
Apart from them is it only Broncos Melbourne, Gold Coast and Warriors who have private ownership? Can't see any of them moving
Titans are a crap team with a good stadium while the sharks are a good team with a crap stadium.Tits offer nothing to the comp but the Sharkies are a good club
