amazingly TBoon has a point

a cardboard box could have coached the Broncos to those GF wins in the 90s but everyone sucks up Wayne's arse
These days being able to attract prospective players is a big part of it.
Guys like Bellamy and Bennett are at a massive advantage compared to coaches like Brown and Pay.

IS there any coaches that have been able to take a bog avg team and make them something special in recent years? Only Shane Flanagan springs to mind.

Its easy for likes of Roosters, Storm, Cowboys, Broncos coaches as they have such talent to play with. The real coach is the one who can get the best out of a bunch of muppets or assemble a squad of cast offs and turn them into contenders.

Well I’ll be, I agree with PR. Flannos coaching achievements to consistently get to the finals and win the gf with his assembled squad is very much underrated.

Brown is the worst coach in the league.
McGregor might have a thing to say about that

And the Newcastle team Brown had was barely first grade standard for those first couple of years, a bunch of average inexperienced young guys and some old has beens leftover from Bennett

and the Coach that leaves a club in a better state than they found it. Like every good leader it's part of the job description.

Don’t get too excited lads. Remember Brown had a team that was full of stars and couldn’t get the job done. Enjoy the fun while it lasts

Apart from round 5 & 6 they weren't actually travelling that badly in terms of points conceded, their attack has started to come good with Pearce finding form.

Pressure building on golden boy.

Jesse Raimen Noodles has been shown the door.

Dropped to 9th on the ladder. Have won 1 of their last 6

But he's still a good bloke, right??

Just to educate us all as to your wisdom, how many winning seasons in the NRL have you coached?

The most overrated coach ever is Brian Smith, who never won a Grand Final

His brother Tony has won plenty. He even converted to being a citizen of the UK in order to achieve success.
